I had the opportunity be interviewed last month and on the show I spoke about different options for getting your brand noticed while getting your time back.

I started speaking more on this topic after working with clients and hearing how exhausting social media can become for them when trying to meet all the requirements needed to meet social media expectations.

The thing is it's important to make sure you are not posting just to post and that you have a social media and content strategy that helps your customer discover their needs while you discover more about them and turn them into raving fans.

How do you do this by making sure you strategy is conversational. Make sure it's not a one way type of marketing plan.

Now more than ever we have to be human in our communcation and market to the hearts and minds of our customers. Here's how we go about doing this:

  • Earning Attention
  • Telling A Story
  • Opening Up and Listenting
  • Knowing how to start a conversation
  • Knowing how to stop talking
  • Getting your customer involved

So how do we stand out and gain attention? We do it by doing the opposite of what others are doing. Say things differently. There is a saying I always say and it is it's not what you say it's how you say it. There are many invidiuals speaking about the same topics however, your deliver can be completly different than others.

Storytelling will never go away. The most popular and successful businesses all have a story whether it's outfront of behind the scenes we love to hear and connect with stories. How are you telling your story? So just like in person when online the first introduction begins with an handshake. Your handshake is your first imprression. There is actually a certain way you should carry out a great first handshake to make a great impression. Well this goes the same for your first impression in marketing. You never know if someone is seeing your content for the first time therefore make sure it's impressive and you earn the attention in a way that sparks a relationship.

After a good handshake let the conversations begin. Make sure you are speaking human, developing a connection, or telling an authentic story. When you do this it is easier to get your customer more involved.

Bottom line have personality. People like people. So let's get to the final question:
