Hi everyone, am trying to work on my wordpress site - can get logged into the dashboard area but whenever I select any other page I get the message "Invalid Post Type".... It's

If you can, go to Plugins > All Plugins and deactivate ALL of them. If that fixes the problem then you can re-activate them one at a time, checking as you go to find out which plugin is the culprit.

Make sure you always backup your website before you do any updates.

Hi Marion, Thank you - I deactivated and then reactivated all of them and at first it seemed to make no difference - but when I revisited the site a bit later all was resolved.... Hi Juliet. I find that most problems like this seem to be browser related. I use Firefox exclusively and do not experience any issues. Hope this helps.

Thanks Terry. I use Firefox too but I obviously can't control the browser my customers choose and that's the issue... Fortunately, with Tim's help (below) I've managed to work out the checkboxes next to the delivery options and T&C's. So the only things I still haven't worked out are the strikethrough on my Add To Basket buttons and the quantity box in the Basket not displaying properly. I think it's probably some sort of coding issue... so I shall persevere! Thanks again for your input :-) Juliet

I see the problem now. What plugin are you using to generate the shipping table?

No particular plug-in for the table - just doing everything via Woo Commerce.

That is surprising not being compatible with chrome. Did it ever work properly?

No, it's always displayed like this. I think it's something to do with the CSS code. Do you know anything about making changes to code? I'm nervous to try - have messed things up before like this!!

Juliet you might try clearing your chrome browser cache I just checked your site with chrome and it looked fine. I may not have gone far enough thru the purchase process tho

Thanks Tim - just tried that but still no different. The other odd thing that happens is that on my webshop the "Add To Basket" buttons display with a strikethrough. And then in the quantity boxes at check-out the actual number hardly shows - it's almost as if the box column width isn't set quite wide enough. And then no check boxes showing next to delivery options or Terms & Conditions. I did Google the issue and there are several suggestions re changing my CSS code - but that makes me nervous when I don't really know what I'm doing! Thanks again for the help :-)

It happens as I explained below - both on the Products page of the webshop and in the Basket and at Checkout. I've attached a screenshot - you can see there are no visible buttons next to each delivery option, nor at the bottom next to the payment options actually.

Hi there, I just tried to send someone a seemingly very innocuous link to a "How To Add Coupons to WooCommerce site" video on You Tube and was told that I couldn't include URL'

YouTube has two version of each link, one with params and the other without.

What you need is the "Share" version, not the "embed" version.

And, yes, you can rip out the crud from a link and it will still work. If you compare the two versions I've mentioned you'll instantly see what's common to both.

Click the 'Share' button under the video and use the code that appears highlighted and ready to copy - no weird parameters.

Parameters are things like &, = in the url.
Those are often used in affiliate links and therefore are not allowed to be posted here.
Of course you can link to a Youtube video, you just have to remove those parameters first.
Did you maybe try to send an embed code of a video to someone? Those include parameters, too.

A normal Youtube url shouldn't have any parameters.
Did you get to that video via a link on Facebook or another social media website?
Type the titel of the video in the Youtube search and you should get to the video and a link without parameters.

I never noticed that, but it seems that all Youtube videos have parameters in the url.
The only way to send someone here on WA a youtube video is then to just send them the title of the video.

Hi everyone, after setting up my WooCommerce site and, once I sorted out the shipping, it seeming to work perfectly, it now won't let me add more than one of each product to th

Hi Mark, Do I use Woocomerce on a social site? There are so many Woocommerce plugins, which do I use to link with paypal?

Hi Bryant, you can use Woocommerce to sell either physical or virtual products. Just type in Woocommerce and you will find the right plug-in to use - totally compatible with PayPal and many other payment gateways. Hope this helps :-) Juliet

I would definitely re-enable cookies again though - as it does need those to function correctly.

Awesome, thanks so much Mark. I have actually re-enabled cookies as this definitely made it worse. Just don't understand how it suddenly stopped working properly when I hadn't changed anything?? I was trying to implement a Coupon (which also didn't work properly - WooCommerce sorely trying my patience at this moment in time!!) but didn't mess with Cookies or anything else and have now just deleted the Coupon until I get this other issue sorted first. Adding Coupons shouldn't cause a total mess-up of how many items I can add to my Cart though should it (especially considering all Coupons have been now deleted)?

I have no issue with coupons on my site (the one I have used them with).

Back to the original problem for now though...

Can you try going to the WP admin page -> Products > "click to edit your product" -> Inventory, and check that "Sold individually" is not clicked.
