Your mind changes your body... but did you know that your body can also change your mind?

I'm sure we're all familiar with the concept that how we think greatly affects our health, success and general well-being. But up until a few days ago I had no idea that it also works the other way - that how we use our bodies can actually affect the way that we think, operate and generally come across to other people. This is a phenomenally simple, quick, but effective technique to take control of stressful situations or even as preparation for a day at work/on your computer... It reduces the stress hormone, cortisol, and increases testosterone - the steroid hormone (found in men and women by the way) that is responsible for us taking action and creating success. Check out this amazing TED talk by Amy Cuddy here - http://youtu.be/Ks-_Mh1QhMc. Hope you find it interesting and useful! :-)

Thanks for this post-it's helps me with getting my niche more targeted. I have similar interests! Great connecting with you!

Great, and with you too Marie! :-)

Very interesting…thanks.

You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it :-)

This is pretty much what I told my students when they were worried about getting on stage. Stand-up, be proud, and pretend the stage belongs to you and only you.

Great advice! :-)

Absolutely!!! The same goes for the sub/unconscious and conscious minds. TED Talks are amazing and there are a ton on Netflix.

If anyone is looking for more on how our physical minds work in conjunction with our thought minds - the hypothalamus, thalamus, corpus callosum, amygdala, hippocampus, and peptides - find a copy of 'Who Switched Off My Brain?' by Dr. Caroline Leaf. Don't worry, it doesn't delve too deep into the scientific end of the brain, but there is a decent amount of explanation prior to getting into the physical-metaphysical energy relationship.

"Your brain may come close to complete destruction under the burden of years of toxic waste, but it can start to recover in as little as 4 days!"

An extremely challenging concept for people who are not ready to accept responsibility for their current situation. The biggest hurdle to this shift is the concept of blame or judgment - there must be somebody at fault, and it sure as hell isn't me!
