Welcome to my guide on how to sell affiliate products online. In this guide I will be showing you how to generate an income online by selling affiliate products on your websites to your customers. First of all you must ask yourself, Is this the way I would like to earn money online or work from home? If the answer to that question was Yes!, then you can easily get started selling high commission products today. If you are ambitious and creative there are so many ways to promote affiliate products. Well, the first thing you will want to do is select the product you want to sell. Let us begin!

Research Your Product Before You Promote It

I have found the best way to do this is to think of myself as the customer. If I was going to purchase a product, I would want the product to be of high quality, a decent price, attractive to look at and have a warranty or trial period before i buy it.

So these are some of the things you should take into consideration when selecting a product to sell your customers. If the product doesn’t feel, look, or sound good, well they probably would not consider purchasing it.

Create Your Own Websites And Domains

This may be time consuming but try to separate any products you are wanting to sell. Using a unique website and domain (this is your websites name) for each of your marketing products will lead your customers to focus in on that one product and that product only. This may cost a little more to host each domain individually but will lead to more sales on the specific product you are advertising.

Some reputable companies will let you have multiple websites and domains for a small fee and if you are serious about affiliate marketing you can get a discount on your yearly membership. Then if you wish, you can link one site to another to sell any other products you may be promoting which can be excellent for your (SEO) search engine optimization.

Write a Review On Your Product

Creating a review on your products website will provide your customers with a better insight into what it is they are purchasing. Provide them with some testimonials from other happy customers who have already tried it out. Before doing this, make contact with the people involved and ask permission to use any photos or names relating to them on your website for promoting that certain product.

When writing a review, a good idea is to make up a template to include all the necessary details including the name of the product, who is the owner, what you will receive inside the product and do you get support to help you etc, etc. Then you can give the product a rating out of 10 or 100 or whatever you wish.

Write Enticing Articles About Your Product

When writing articles about your product, the article must add value to the product. You can provide the readers with tips on how to use the product wisely or offer solutions to problems they might experience when using the product. Always be honest and fair about the product, because it is your article and your reputation that is on the line and trying to hype it up will not give the customer a true recommendation of the product.

If you find the product to be of exceptional quality then give it a great wrap. If the product was not to your satisfaction then you have to be completely honest about it because you want to keep in good standing with your customers.

Your customers are your income source, if you lose one customer, you could be losing the customers that they can bring to your website as well. Always remember that quality products will sell no matter what, and these are the products you should try to find. It helps to keep your readers in a positive frame of mind so they get into a mindset of thinking, “I cant wait until I get this”.

Join Up And Promote Your Products

Now that you have found the products that you rate the highest in your reviews, join up to the various companies as an affiliate and start to promote your top quality companies. Start up your websites for those products and use a source of advertising, (free or paid) to promote your products.

Social media is a prime example of how you can get people to purchase your products without having to pay for advertising, or if you wish you can use Google adwords or other programs to advertise your products but you make have to pay for some of these services they call ( PPC) pay per click.

PPC is when someone clicks on your advertisement, you pay a certain set amount of money for each click on your advert. This is a good reliable way to get a steady flow of visitors to your website but you will have to pay for it so set yourself a budget first and strictly stick to it.

Promote Your Products Consistently

Traffic to your website is a must if you want to sell your products. Traffic = Visitors = Sales = Income. So to produce a steady stream of income from your website one must promote the website and the products it is trying to sell. Promote, Promote, Promote. There are many ways to promote your products online, here are just some of them.

  • Social Media
  • Articles in newsletters
  • Forums in discussion groups
  • Email marketing/Autoresponders
  • Word of mouth/friends and family
  • PPC advertising

Follow all the different forms of your advertising campaigns to monitor your results and keep an eye out for which campaigns are performing for you. Once you have found the best performing sources for your products, have a look at which keywords you have used in those advertising campaigns and you will know which keywords are working for your product so you can utilize them in your other advertising efforts.

Targeted Traffic can be done through all of the above services and you can also publish your own articles in e-zines publications and that way you may find other publications about your desired customers and what you have written might just catch the eye. You can also receive very good traffic! If you publish just a couple of articles every week it can lead up to, and over,100 interested visitors to your site every day, and if you can write a good article you will get even more visitors so you got to keep up the process of writing content.

Anything Free Is A Bonus

If your product has a free offer attached to it like an E-book you can use this to attract your customers to your product. Setting up an email account with an email responder is a great way to gather a list of your customers so you can send them follow up emails about your product and any free offers you may have. Patience is the key to selling your products because it is known throughout the industry that someone will probably look at your product about 7 times before they actually make a purchase.

Having an email list allows you to send them regular emails about all of the products and services you are trying to sell. As your list grows so do your sales. Boom! Money In your account. With your emails that you send your customers, try to point out the value in your product that they may be looking for! (how it could make their life much more easier and enjoyable) instead of a straight up sales pitch. Try to make your email enticing and see if you can convince them that they may be missing out on something big.

Well I just started and curious about the mini websites. so far I am doing a hair journey site, and it is coming together. I already thinking of next site.

I have questions for you:
1. Are you suggesting to make what they call "miniwebsites"? one website/one domain for each product?
2. Can you buy these miniwebsites here at WA and have a special discount?
I think you DO NOT NEED many domains: you just need one domain with a generic website name and you advert one product at a time.
Only if you have many products at a time you will need more domains.
3. How do you link one site to another?
4. Where do you write the reviews and the "enticing articles"? on a magazine? which? or on the miniwebsite dedicated to that product..
5. Someone said that to promote the website is a loss of time and money: They say you have to promote the product instead. Who tought you that you have promote the website to sell your products.
Thanks
Ciao/Phil

Phil, Some suggestions.
1. Mini websites are a possibility. One product/one web site. The website url address should be as close as possible to the products name. And try for a .com url.
2. As a premium member on WA you can have multiple web sites. I believe your comment about a generic web site is not a good idea.
3. To link one site to another, you use a bit of html. The tag is "a href". You use this with a statement such as "You may also like product so-and-so."
4. Using wordpress you create a page promoting your product (ie the review) along with your privacy page and about me page. Then you create articles as posts that provide additional info regarding the product.
5. If the web site promotes one product and the url refers to that product, you are going to promote that website.
Hope this helps. Alex

Thanks Alex. A lot to study and work on. Will keep me busy for a year.

Thanks for the information. You must have put a bit of time into this one.

Thanks heaps. I probably did not teach you much though as I am a newbie and your an ambassador. I do appreciate you commenting on it though so thank you very much. I hope everything is going smoothly for you as well and love your feedback. Lovin WA.
Cheers! Paul. :-)

Blogs that teach, even at the newbie level are needed and appreciated. The membership is constantly growing and all need to learn. Please remember, just because I happened to make ambassador, it does not make me a know it all in any sense of the word!
