Getting Up Again After A Major Life Event And Succeed.
Hello Wealthy Affiliate family.
I wanted to take this time to share a little of my story, NOT to get sympathy but to show that even after life throws you a curve ball or 3, having the right mindset makes all the difference. So thanks for reading.
Note that English is my 2nd language so please accept my spelling mistakes.
Here we go.
When I turned 50, it was a big deal but for me, it was the beginning of great things but instead, it was a horrible time that lasted over a year. I lost my sister to leukemia, needless to say that I was devastated. Our family was barely getting over the loss of my mom. I took it hard, became an angry person and did not enjoy life as I should. I was a walking black cloud.
After months of this, my (now ex) wife asked me to leave, anxiety and depression showed their ugly face, I went to a very dark place, asking myself if life was worth it. I was on disability from my job. Why should I bother continuing crossed my mind a few times.
After losing my sister, my marriage ending, what else could go wrong?
Well, I was terminated after 11 years, exactly 11 days after returning to work
That was my rock bottom. I felt hopeless. I had choices to make and a life to live. I decided to reclaim my life, one person helped me a lot.
I met Renee and at first basically pushed her away, never being lovey dovey and having walls so high, no one could get in but she did not give up.
I started from the very beginning and learned how to work from home, I actually started at Wealthy Affiliate one year ago yesterday. It took a while but I did it. It is not easy but it is do-able.
Part of the process is embracing the good that you have, I have a beautiful family and a boy named Rhys. I love him to bits I live near Victoria, BC, Canada. That is where Kyle and Carson also live.
I do know one thing, Do it right and you can succeed. Don't quit.
Keep going and continue taking action every day.
I hope this helped a bit, it was only once I decided to live my life, my way that things started to change.
I could have easily found an excuse but instead, I found a way.
Thanks for reading and have a happy week.
Pierre

Thanks
Pierre
There is no such thing as failure it's success in reverse if you willing to continue the fight
Warm regards
Richard
Hi Richard,
The fight never stops, I know it is a cliché but it is not how often you get knocked down that matters but how often you get up.
No more knockdowns.
Thanks and take care
Pierre
Your story looks so similar to mine and I like the high spirit in you that you didn't think of giving up in life. It's a sad story with a very happy ending. Thanks for sharing
Hi Paul,
Thanks so much, I shared it because I am sure that too many of us on here have had a tough time. Just glad I had the support to get better.
Thanks and talk soon.
Pierre
Thanks Deborah,
There are still days but my business is doing well, I am doing well and my spirit is fabulous,
Thank You
Pierre
So very sorry for your losses. You are now on my prayer list and I know it might not help but I have been through this valley and came out the other side. Just keep moving, even if it is a 1/4 of an inch. May God put a hedge of His Love around you!
shary
Thanks Shary,
You are right, the pace does not matter as long as we keep moving, more today and more tomorrow. Don't stop.
Thanks and take care
Pierre
Thanks Nathaniel, (not sure if Nate is ok)
I appreciate it. I think at times, we are our worst enemy. No more, I am finally my best friend.
Thanks and Talk soon
Pierre

The one thing, well I guess two things, people don't realize when they are going through hard stuff are:
1. they still have a lot to live for even though they can't see it through their pain and depression
2. they think people will be better off with out them and fail to consider the pain and loss they inflict on the ones they leave behind.
I know this from past experience. Several years ago the daughter of a good friend of mine was so depressed over the loss of her other half that she could see no way out of her grief than to call it quits on life, leaving everyone wondering why even years later.
So, I am so glad you chose to live life and move on and pull yourself up, (with help), I'm glad you let her in as well. That in itself is a great success story and I can't wait to hear about more successes as you continue this journey.
Good on ya and God bless
P. S. I live in the Lower Mainland. B.C...the prettiest place on earth
Hi Wayne, thanks for your message. I know so many people say they live in the most beautiful place on earth but only a few of those happen to be recognized year in and year out but the major travel sites as been as such. We are very lucky to live where we live.
I consider myself lucky as I knew I was supported and was able to come out of it, I did not say it in the blog but I have 3 close friends that stood by me and were (and still are) what true friends I suppose to be. So sorry to read about yours friends daughter.
I used to be in Langley and Burnaby before that, where are you?
Talk soon,
Pierre
Life does go on and it really helps when we have the support of good friends and family.
I'm in Maple Ridge. I get to look at the Golden Ears mountain every day. 5 minute ride to the country side.
Left to right: Golden Ears, Edge Peak, Blanchard Needle, Alouette Mountain. Makes for a nice backdrop, don't you think?
No kidding gorgeous, I do miss the Lower Mainland at times. But the 'quietness' of the Cowichan Valley is awesome.
All we need now is the Canucks to start winning again.
Pierre
