What I've Learned After 3 Months Of Blogging

It's an interesting thing how I was able to pump out 1000 word articles in an hour pretty easily when I started this new blog of mine. Maybe it was the excitement of having a new website and being very passionate about the health and wellness niche and helping people hit their fitness goals.

Now, just 3 months later, my most recent article took me over 4 hours to write. What's going on here? I guess I've come to treat this as a job now, and even though there isn't monetary payment yet, I know it will pay off, and this entire journey is a learning process anyway.

Actually, I take some of that back...there IS monetary payment, as I've gotten two Amazon sales so far, which was really awesome when I saw that. And Google Adsense says I've earned $1.87 so far.

My most recent article was listed on the first page of Bing within a day for the keyword I chose. I'm not yet ranking in Google, but Bing seems to like a handful of my articles so far, which is awesome.

I saw this surprising number the other day that I've written over 107,000 words. I'm simply following the training here at WA to a T. I've stopped writing 4 days a week and dropped it down to 3 days weekly.

It's a LOT of work, and if you're just starting a blog, my suggestion is to choose a topic you truly feel connected to and understand it like the back of your hand. Or at least a topic you're interested in enough to where you feel you can write about for months and months without getting tired of it. I'm pretty sure I'd have been burnt out by now if I chose a topic I only sort of cared about. But that's just me.

I'm approaching 70 articles written, and I've come to realize that it's taking me longer to write them now because I've changed my perspective on some things. For every keyword I choose, I am shifting my focus as much as I can to be in the person's shoes who typed that phrase into Google or Bing. I realize there's no point in spending all this time writing if I'm not doing the absolute best job I can to answer the question they're asking.

And this takes longer to do, because I end up doing more reserach lately, especially when I choose topics I'm not absolutely confident about. Also, I've started adding more bullet points, highlighted sections, and lists to my blogs, so that articles break down more easily. The point is that I'm trying to make articles as user friendly as possible.

I guess one thing I'm missing frrom my very first articles I wrote is that I threw my entire personality into each article, which felt very much me...but then I realize now, well, people aren't searching the internet for me and my weird personality or perspective on things...they're searching the internet to find answers to their problems. And that's my focus now...while still sprinking that personal touch on each article.

Anyway, that's my journey so far, and thought to share it as it seems to be just over 3 months of writing, and I have no intention of slowing down. Thanks for reading!

Thank you PTdata for this share, it was so honest. I like to end my day by reading other people's posts, and I am glad I read this one of yours, as it reminded me not to go off on a tangent. I still yet to write something, I have dyslexia, as frustrating as it is. I know I just have to work a bit harder. I think this whole setup could straighten it. I look forward to reading more of your stuff.
Best wishes
Harper.

Thank you for reading - that's a great habit I think to read other people's posts at the end of the days. Glad you stumbled upon mine. Thank you for reaching out and I wish you the best on your journey as well!

Same to you. Best wishes.

Congrats on your achievements. Sounds like you've really "found" what works for you in terms of blogging. Also sounds like the past three months have paid off in terms of learning and fine tuning what customers in your niche want.

I learned a thing or two from you while reading this.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you and I'm glad you were able to take something away from what I said. It's weird to think my blog is so new cause it feels now like it's been around forever, but really only since Mid October 2020. What works for me is just staying on schedule, I write Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and when I'm done, I literally am done and just move on to the rest of my day. Thank you for the encouraging comment :)

Hi Paul.

It seems that you are doing a fantastic job so far.

3 months in and nearly 70 articles written is phenomenal in my book!

Keep up the great work my friend and success will surely be just around the corner.

Thank you! Well, I think it's almost 70 articles now because during that first month I swear I had one day where I even wrote 3 articles in a day! But at this point, it's just become actual weekly work, and I had to break it down to 3 a week. Probably after I hit 100, I'll drop it to 2 days a week and possibly start another blog. We'll see how things pan out. Thank you for the kind words and encouragement!

You are doing a fantastic job. And learning the reality of how to keep building a niche website. You are understanding the process very well. Your understanding and action will bring more success.

Very impressive accomplishments for only 3 months.

We wish you continued success.

Thank you I appreciate it! The key to what you just said is "learning the reality of how to keep building a niche website". That reality started sinking in when I realized I can't take a day off...this is work...do it consistently, do it well, and move on to the rest of my day. Thank you for cheering me on!

I've known you for years man and I know you're going to be successful because you already have so many of the necessary attributes to make this work. You're already growing your site and I am certain you're going to be a massive success story in WA.

I really appreciate you saying that. Actually I remember emailing you with different questions for a couple years, and I still never really dove into the actual work...it's like I was just thinking about it all the time. A lot of your recent feedback has seriously helped me improve my blog, as I followed what you advised step by step. it's a whole different ball game when you just dive in and start working consistently. Thanks for the encouragement! That would be awesome if this blog does become a success story! I'm not having expectations - just taking it a day at a time and enjoying the process!

Nice man! Glad to hear you stuck it through and are building a truly long term thing today!
