Paradox of Being into FitnessWellness then Getting Sick

Was on a roll this week with wellness, exercise and healthy lifestyle...hitting the gym, yoga, meditation, healthy eating, vitamins and supplements, etc., plus working as a Registered Nurse, plus working on my healthy Holistic Abundance Inc. biz online.

...then I got sick Saturday and even had to call out from work. Been resting in bed overnight and not sure whether I will need to miss work Sunday night yet...still feel pretty lousy.

Seems like a good reminder that even if we are trying to live a healthy lifestyle plus know a lot about doing so (I don't drink or smoke either)---that life still has no guarantees and we are all vulnerable humans.

Well, had to write this for some reason...think I will try and get some sleep now.

Take care

Feeling somewhat better late Sunday night through very early Monday. After struggling with it some, I decided it was prudent to go ahead and call in for Monday night also. I still feel sort of woozy and not so good when I stand up and walk around a bit inside my living space. And I remember one time last year when I got sick and tried to come back too soon---ended up being wheeled down to the E.R. and admitted to the hospital. So not going to try and be macho tough about it when my body and mind are telling me loudly to rest in bed (and on the couch) one more day. And I am off Tuesday already, so I can try to plan on easing into more activity as tolerated instead of jumping right back into a 12 hr busy hospital shift.

I hope you will feel better soon.
all the best

Thanks. Slept a ton today and starting to feel better.

Thanks. I just slept about 12 hours so really caving in to the need for rest to recover. It seems like the long deep sleep helped some.

hahaha i know where you are coming from! As a digital entrepreneur and former gym manager/personal trainer I know all too well that we are not exempt from sickness.

Get well soon!

Thanks. I went ahead and called in sick a minute ago for Sunday night also. I just had to admit to myself that I feel pretty dang lousy and it would be foolish to try and run up and down the hospital halls for 12 hrs of RN work tonight...so best to call in early and give them plenty of time to make arrangements to cover the shift and just go ahead and get the rest and time needed to recover.
