I agree somewhat but consider that FB is like a HUGE country with all kinds a demographics it's easy to see why it is so well used.
I use different networks for all of my sites. All use facebook. All google plus. All use Flipboard. After that I use Linkedin accordingly. Haven't gone into the Instagram realm yet. Youtube is another big one as well.

Hey Mel thanks for stopping by. Yep I use Facebook with the most success and Twitter is next inline. I heard Pinterest was hot, Instagram too but a lot of my website followers pin and gram my stuff and nothing comes from Instagram and a trickle from Pinterest. Most of my traffic directly related to social comes from FB and Twitter. Thanks for commenting!

I post equally to FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+. I have not had any real success (equals sales) with any of these sites. I get many comments from FB, but I am not getting the results that I expected.
I have found that people share pics more than just posts. Combine a relevant pic with your posts and your results may increase.
