This Amazon Plugin Tripled My Clicks

I'm still very much building out my website and marveling at every little click I get on my pages, waiting for them to turn into money.

I only started adding product affiliates in the past week so I'm still rough around the edges and testing my conversions to see what is working best.

I have been mostly using links and images to promote my products, but it wasn't looking quite right and I only got a couple clicks on one specific product. In general, I wasn't feeling this amature look:

THE ASSOCIATES LINK BUILDER PLUGIN

I was reading through the Amazon affiliate program details and coaching, and it referenced their official plugin, the Associate's Link Builder, as a way to neatly present product images with links directly in my posts.

I uploaded the plugin and saw the icon pop up on the left side of my WordPress dashboard.

Following the instructions on the Amazon affiliate site, I set it up to connect to my affiliate account, which took me about 30 seconds.

Then I went to add some products to my posts.

A little search box now exists next to my media tab in the editing page on WordPress.

When I'm at the point where I want to add a product or products in my post, I just do a search for the products I'm looking for. I get a pop-up where Amazon gives me a selection of products to choose from.

I select the products I want and click "Add Shortcode," and a bunch of code shows up in my text which I can place wherever I like in the post.

Here's an example of the shortcode:

[amazon_link asins='B01M7Q75V4,B01MCTVNIL,B00O7ZGG02,B00O7ZGT7W,B01MCTVBX9,B00O7ZGYL8' template='ProductCarousel' store='consumerhom00-20' marketplace='US' link_id='']

Which looks like this in the published post:

This particular code was set up to add in a carousel of products. So my readers can scroll through my Amazon recommendations.

There are a few different layout options that the plugin can be adjusted to so you can get the appearance you like.

Here's an example of a product grid:

I haven't had a chance to play with them all.

IMMEDIATE RESULTS

This website only recently started indexing in Google.

I have just over 50 comments on the website overall.

I have only added Amazon products to three of my posts (although I'm now working on adding more).

After adding this formatting to two of my posts, I shot up from 2 clicks to 7 within 2 days.

Although this has not yet converted into income, and clearly I also have to look at what I'm successfully doing to drive traffic, getting clicks is a great indication of success.

So I'm excited and wanted to share my review of this great little plugin.

Best Wishes,

Jaime

Great plugin tool Jaime. Noted and saved. Thank you!

Cool, thanks for sharing.

Are you using Elementor Pro or just the free version, I would like to try it also, may peoples said it's a good theme.

The last question, lol, are you happy with Pretty links, I intend to use it also, but I don't want to install more than 5 plugins for each of my WP sites, so I'm choosing carefully. Many peoples said it's the best for shortening links, but I believe it's better to have a critic from a WA member who actually uses it.

I haven't upgraded to any pro plugins yet. I keep debating Elemntor. I actually kind of like editing without it.

I do have pretty links and do I like it. There are other ways you can simplify your links without a plugin, just takes longer.

Having too many plugins is definitely not good for speed and the rankings will show that. I'm still working out what my top necessary plugins are, and it's different on each of my sites. But this one is perfect for product promotion.

Thanks for the reply, will definitely try it if it's good for product promotion.

Looks like a caching plugin is also a must have and a site backup plugin.

I'm pretty excited to try your Amazon tip can't wait to see how it will work.

Great post - looks like a nifty plugin to use. Numbers are always key to success in any type of marketing.

Thanks for doing this post and sharing it with us!

A great tip! I will keep it in mind for when I get there.

Sounds great Jaime.

Great tip. I am going to look into this. Makes it look a lot easier than what I have been doing.

Thanks for the great tip. Just installed it to my website and keeping my fingers crossed :)

All the best
Steven

Thanks, I didn’t know about this plugin!

Dangit Jaime...I needed this. I am male, I don't like to read the directions. My main competitor does this on his site and I thought he was just a WP wiz and I would have to learn coding to do it.....but you showed me how.

Thanks for sharing. You are a lifesaver.

I felt the same way until I found this! I was watching others do it and feeling like an amature. Happy to help!

Hey Jaime,

Are you writing your content in WP or in SiteContent then going in after publishing and using the plugin? Just curious. Thanks

This is awesome information! This is one of the niches I am interested in as well, so this will help me immensely. Thanks again, and best wishes for much success!

My pleasure!
