In Course 2, Lesson 7 we talk about "Low Hanging Fruit". Essentially, you want to find keywords that have a QSR of 100 or less. This will mean less competition for higher ranking in SE. For all other keywords (mainstream) I would recommend looking for 300 or less.
So what qsr should I stay around when looking for kewords?

The general advice is under 300, but as a beginner you might want to try and catch as much of the lower hanging fruit as possible, under 100 is great and closer to 0, the better. Personally I try and stay under 200 for all my keywords.
