This is my Story so Far

It was the end of May this year and for the first time since 1999 my contract had come to an end without a new project already lined up. It used to be that companies were chasing me to join their projects, but the current market is so slow, not a peep.

I wasn't panicking.. yet... I'd got some savings and investments I could cash in to carry me through at least 2-3 months, but it was clear that it wasn't going to be sustainable.

For the first month I didn't know what to do with myself and I just wasted time on the internet looking at Facebook and watching movies on YouTube. It was really wasting time. Then I seriously started to think of how to generate other means of income assuming that this current scenario was a form of enforced retirement.

I started looking for ways to do business or make money online. There's so many out there but as you go through them you just get an uncomfortable feeling at the back of your mind, then totally by accident, (or design), I came across a review about Wealthy Affiliates. Something told me this is the one and I took the plunge, I mean nothing to lose, the first week is free right.

What an eye opener...! Just in those first few days I learned so much, I generated ideas for various niches, I got a basic website set up, with just a few hours left I bought into the Premium membership. I quickly purchased my own domain, cancer-natural-therapy.com, and put in incredible hours, hardly sleeping, to go through the training and start developing my content.

I started getting involved with Live Chat, found myself answering questions as well asking for help. Then the first major milestone, Google indexed my site, it was an awesome feeling, such a sense of achievement.

Now I have a small following here on WA, I'm following back, I've set up my Google+ and got my website on there. The next steps are to continue the training, extend the visibility of my website on the web, and hopefully monetise it to generate some income.

My Ranking here in WA appears to be progressing well. When I started I was somewhere near the 3000 mark, I think it was 2958 or around that figure. Then I noticed it changing, 2000+, 1910, 1500-ish, 1000+... Now I've broken the 1000 milestone and it feels good.

I'm am so happy that I found WA, I feel alive, my brain is working, I get to spend time with the family, do errands, meet friends, when I want to. I'm not beholden to any director or client telling me when or how I should work.

It's a tremendous start to a new journey and over the next few months I hope to see my site in the top few pages of a Google search.
