My old MacBook Pro has been showing its age for awhile now. At 7 years of age it was becoming extremely slow, clunking along to load web pages, download emails, open any files, infact it was near impossible to do anything efficiently. With the new MacBooks being way beyond my budget I decided that I would look at how to do a MacBook Pro upgrade.A few YouTube videos later I said to myself 'I can do this!'With a certain amount of trepidation, the first thing I did was to replace one of the speaker

Salaam and Peace to all!I am currently sitting in the jungle in Malaysia.Internet coverage is sparse at the best of times and since yesterday I have been trying to post this short message to welcome Ramadhan. As of yesterday evening after the sunset prayer, we have entered the Blessed month of Ramadhan, a month of fasting from dawn until sunset. Many of us simply avoid food and drink during these hours, but we should really consider deeper aspects of fasting. This Blessed month should also be a t

So, I'm in the middle of writing my latest blog for my cancer niche and suddenly a pop-up appears saying that I've got another badge and congratulations. It appears that I am now among the top 200 here on WA. I really don't know what I've done, but I'm sure it's a good sign that I'm on the right track. If only it would help with my blogs getting ranked on Google.I was on the verge of giving up and went 'incommunicado' for awhile and this reflected in my WA ranking as I went from 300+ to almost 1

Well as the clock ticks, counting down those remaining few hours, Black Friday is coming to a close. For my part it was hectic getting the new website ready but it was worth it.Both my sites have increased their traffic and the best part, I got my first referral. It's a small step, but considering I knew absolutely nothing about setting up an online business, let alone developing my own website, I consider this an amazing achievement. It just goes to show why Wealthy Affiliate is a leader in t

I don't know who they are, I don't where they're based, but that invisible team behind the button labelled "Site Support" are some of the most patient and helpful people I have come across.I had decided to set up a second website to take advantage of the Black Friday thing (it's difficult to do that with my cancer treatment site). It didn't' feel right to be encouraging people to buy, buy, buy, especially when there nearest and dearest might be suffering desperately. So I started the new websit

Well, today was very productive.I managed to get my social media plugin and links set up and I shared the most recent post to said social inks.I managed to edit my footer to get the alignment how I want it and removed that infuriating "Proudly powered by..."I helped a few guys on Live Chat, one even upgraded to Premium based on my advice (Erm, Kyle... Do I get anything for that?)Finally I researched my next two posts.Oh, and after an almost 3 month absence that saw my ranking drop dramatically

Well it's been a tough couple of months, friends dying from cancer, money issues, and a guy running off with my gold trading business and money. It all kicked me back in my WA progress; I totally lost focus and it showed in my ranking, going from somewhere in the 300+ area to almost 13,000!I just could not get my head into the WA thing, so finally I sat down and decided to go through the training again, right from the beginning. It worked, I finally managed to produce a new post, and once agai

Due to the dip in the market for engineering construction projects, at the end of May this year (2017), I found myself out of work as my contract came to an end. For the first month I grappled with the possibility that I was entering an enforced retirement. I found myself wasting time watching movies and looking at Facebook, actually gaining no benefit from the internet. Then by chance I came across a review of WA as an internet marketing programme.I took the plunge, hey it was free, and I im

It was the end of May this year and for the first time since 1999 my contract had come to an end without a new project already lined up. It used to be that companies were chasing me to join their projects, but the current market is so slow, not a peep.I wasn't panicking.. yet... I'd got some savings and investments I could cash in to carry me through at least 2-3 months, but it was clear that it wasn't going to be sustainable. For the first month I didn't know what to do with myself and I just

Well, after yesterday's little hiccup of taking more than 6 hours to work out how to get my site verified with Google, (note to self: make video), it's really kinda sunk in how amazing this journey is going to be. From a heavy engineering project background, This is an awesome feeling.Normally i would have to get up at 5.00 am in the morning, then a I hour drive to be at he site, the intense pressure of work, the same drive home at around 7.00pm (that's 1900hrs for us ex-military types), follo
