Kyle's Advice on Niche Markets

It somehow seems so strange to me that common sense advice that exists in so many forums and spoken by countless Gurus seem to take on a new meaning when spoken by Kyle. It's probably the deeper genuineness that seems to seep through his simple yet profound words.

I have been in business since 1996 and have had all kinds of successes as well as some pretty gruesome failures along the way. So when I heard Kyle talking about selecting a Niche as part of the fundamentals before even starting to build a website, this certainly brought back a few memories, which I feel compelled to share at least one (or two), just to illustrate Kyle's point as being so relevant.

The most recent and memorable experience was when I embarked on an Online Business early in 2012. I followed all the rules of the company I affiliated to as well as put in an average of 18 hours per day, 7 days a week and borrowed money to fund my marketing and Livelihood expenses (Lucky Me). I knew I needed to give it some time and when nothing happened after 3 months, I decided I will not quit!

Six months later, not even 1 small sale. The minimum sale amount was extremely small and yet the sale seemed to have eluded me Totally!

I decided to use all the knowledge I gained and use it in another business totally. That business was something I had very little success but was able to earn a meagre living with the income, nevertheless. I needed to earn at least some money and decided I will return to this Online business again once I am in a somewhat better financial position.

Guess what!

The old business suddenly took on a new life because I now applied my new knowledge on Online Marketing methods. I actually found that most of the methods did not produce as much results as One of the methods did. So I ended up applying just 1 method of Online marketing and earned a multiple 6 figure income by end of 2013.

Of course the second half of 2012 did produce some reasonable income and that income simply grew exponentially within 6 months bringing me to a 6 figure earning capacity by January 2013. That income sustained throughout.

So it was not the Online Marketing Business that was wrong. It was just my Niche. I changed the Niche and suddenly things turned around for me. I am not mentioning the Niche so as not to influence any person reading this blog into selecting what was right for me.

Another example, from my stone-age days: I had a promising career in law, a prestigious position within the Department of Justice and already some fame that was sure to skyrocket my career, without any doubt. All things were perfect except that I was not happy inside my heart! I had all the financial benefits. I had status. I had a Bright Future. I was the Envy of so many of my Colleagues, Friends and Family. Yet I just was not happy for some reason which I simply could not identify.

Then, after 5 years, I simply quit. I took the plunge to get into business and started a small business with No Capital and just my Passion to excel in Entrepreneurship. It was the most difficult field I had experienced, to be honest with you. I earned the smallest possible income for a very long time. I had absolutely No Status. All my friends, colleagues and family mocked my "New Choice". I was treated as a Loser.

Despite all of that, I simply was totally happy and satisfied each day in business, up to this day. I refused to leave my choice of career purely due to the satisfaction I felt in my heart from the happiness I found in simply the daily mundane tasks. I felt each day was a new day. I felt I had better hope of financial freedom despite the current low income. I felt freedom in my Life where I was free to work in my own style and how I wished and when I wished and what I wished. The Freedom was priceless.

Did I make a lot of money? Not for a long time. Not for many many years. I did eventually make money which some people would consider "Exciting". However that was never my objective and the total happiness I got from so many other aspects is to this day something I treasure so dearly. Some examples: I was part of my children's growing years from toddler to Teenagers (Priceless). I had time to explore my aesthetic needs and explored deep into aspects like Feng Shui; Budhist Meditation; Yoga; Golf; etc. My aesthetic pursuits took many hours of my day, each day, which I certainly would not have had time for in a normal working job lifestyle.

So the choice of Niche can be so rewarding. If you are struggling, don't be afraid to explore new Niche's. You would probably find something perfect for you only if you sought. "Seek & Ye Shall Find". It is not just about money. It is about what is right for YOU!
