The trip down the rabbit hole

When my fingers took to the Google search of "How to Make Money Online." I came across a plethora of 'How to's,' 'quick money ideas', 'million dollar ideas' and the list goes on. I read and read about other people's success. The starting point to the 7 figure incomes that were now being generated by these people. All because they found an idea, took it, and ran it. Sounds easy, right? I was convinced that I too could do this. I wanted to do this. I had to do this. BUT, I didn't know where to start. Not having a solid starting place and being drifted by others caused my fall down the rabbit hole.

I was sure of my starting place. I wasn't sure of what route I wanted to actually take with this "making money online." What did I know about making money online. Yes, I listened to YouTube video after YouTube video. I read article after article. There's just SOO MUCH! And to be quite honest, how did I know if it really does work? Because "I didn't know" I continued to read and listen. The information is endless. The stories that people share are surreal to read and listen to. Can this actually be true? Not only did I want to find out for myself. I wanted it to happen for myself. But yet again, what did I know about this industry?

Here's what I did know! I knew I needed something to fit in with my life-family and current career. I didn't want to quit my job. I didn't want to take MORE time away from my family. I'm already out of the home for a majority of the day, and I don't mind that, but taking too much more time was out of the question. If this was my starting point of what I knew I wanted to help guide my path to making money online then I would take it.

The Marketing Abyss

I had read about digital marketing...affiliate marketing...email marketing...content marketing...social media marketing, but where did I truly want to dedicate my time to earn money. That was my problem. Finding that spot in the puzzle of marketing to fit into. I went from marketing to marketing learning a ton of information about each, but always had one small problem that NICHE. I read and was told repeatedly once you found your niche, you were golden. It was explained to me that this, this niche, was your money maker. My financial freedom depended on a niche? That was like describing that one scene from a movie when you have to choose between the wires to save lives or end lives. GREAT! One wrong niche and I'm done for. So much pressure, so many thoughts. If I pick the wrong niche then I've wasted time. If I pick the wrong niche, I've wasted money. If I pick the wrong niche, I'm not going to earn money.

Here's the thing, no one tells you because you, yourself are not in the right place to learn how to make money. When you find the right place to be, you learn you can have more than one niche. You can have more than one passion. You just need to keep them separate from one another. That took my 6 months to learn.

Now, I get to keep what I started months ago, develop it more so and build it up. I get to add more passions under one roof, but in different rooms (for a lack of explaining). I can honestly learn to earn money, have it all make sense, and do it the way I want to following the education. Sometimes your journey to your path of success takes longer. You just need to accept that and keep going otherwise you will never know how your journey pans out.

Always keep going to find the place that fits you.

Never settle for less until you, yourself are confident in your settling place.

That could probably resonate with many people 🙂

Yes, I agree. When I was more active on social media 'promoting' digital marketing courses. I found so many people like me were sold this bid of goods to make money online by reselling courses. I found myself 'selling' like car salesman, but truly speaking to what I found beneficial to courses.
