To answer your specific question in regard to trademark infringements and not just general info, my advice is not to worry about it. Any major trademark owner will already have the domain name to protect themselves.
Let’s take “Amazon” for example. They have that registered on every dot extension that you could possibly think of. You couldn’t step on their trademark even if you tried. They even have the misspellings of their name registered.
If the business is smaller, they likely don’t have an actual trademark on their name as that’s a legal process that takes time and money. Again, you’re safe.
What about a name like “amazonforrest dot whatever”? Again, not a problem because Amazon doesn’t own the geographical area.
So, I wouldn’t worry too much in that regard.

Hi Olga...Abie and Brenda have you covered well here helping you research if the name is available or infringing on any rights, but if I can add, I'd add that your domain name is the key element of your website and the brand in which you will be building.
It's also important to use the right domain name extension that works for your site. While some of the rules with this have changed, you'll learn what is best for your business.
While there are many successful websites with a “.net” and “.org”, your website will probably do better if it has a “.com” extension. It’s the safest bet.
I'd also suggest that short is better than long and avoid hyphens and numbers (it can be confusing. Especially with numbers. When doing a Google search, people may confuse using the actual "number", vs spelling out the number). Such as "5" or "five".
Before you move forward with a specific domain name, (as you have asked above) check to see if the name is available on social media sites, as well as if there are any trademarks already registered to the name.
To build your brand, it’s ideal to have the same name across your domain and social networks. This builds familiarity and makes it easy for your visitors, fans, and customers to find you around the web.
Here is another site that might help with this: trademarks.justia.com
Best of luck!

And a godaddy valuation tool to find a memorable name.
I'd also use this site namecheckr.com to check if the name is also available on social media platforms.
However nowadays domains are not so affected by SEO vs writing quality rich content with good choice of keywords, latter of which would rank you in the search engines.
I would always go for a dot com domain name vs dot net or dot org as people's perceptions when they start typing they would typically assume it is a dot com. And make sure it is spelled correctly as it cannot be edited once purchased.
I would not include dashes and check if the domain is copyrighted, trademarked and ' or registered to an established business.
You can search for domain names at name cheap or another domain name like GoDaddy. You can search here at SiteDomains. Do a lengthy Google search. It all depends on your brand and the niche you have chosen for your business. You can look up Dunn and Bradstreet for business names in your local chamber of commerce. You can google trademark business names. We see many of them, most of whom are high-authority big corporations. You also can check with your local governing office that handles like Secretary of State (USA). If not, then your governing area is to find business names that have been registered. No, choosing a name does not affect you, but I suggest being unique and ensuring it matches your business plan's overall part.

These two
thejoyofbeekeeping dot com
- Okay

Many thanks Abie,
how to check if the name is trademark? Does it affect me if a business already has the name I choose? (I would imagine there are many businesses worldwide with same names, but the main thing for me if it is going to affect me in future and in what way?) Kind regards
Olga,
Just adding my two scents, all of these domains sound great.
This is your choice. However, I like the second one.

Basically, if you choose a domain name and it is available, then buy it!
