Buying a .my or com.my domain through site domains

So if you're here chances are you have tried to buy a .my or a .com.my domain through Site Domains here in WA. Well, the short answer is - you can't!

The long answer is - to purchase a .my or a .com.my domain you have to have a business registered in Malaysia AND you will need to purchase it from a list of authorized resellers by MYNIC. But hey, don't let that discourage you!

How to get it done then?

First off, go and get your business registered with SSM. A sole proprietorship would suffice to get you rolling. I'm not go into the details here but you can always checkout SSM's page on business registrations.

Where to buy your .my or com.my domain?

You can purchase it from any of MYNIC's authorized resellers here but my personal favorite is Domain Plus. Haha, I can hear that thought! No, they do not have an affiliate program and I'm not getting any commissions by promoting them! It's simply cheaper and hassle free.

Hosting?

WA's here for you! Simply specify name servers listed below during the purchase process, sit back and relax. It will take anywhere from 1 to 3 days (working days) for the domain registrations to be completed and your site to be hosted on WA.

When can you start working on your .my or .com.my website?

Keep an eye on your Site Manager within WA. Once the registration + hosting process is completed, your website should be visible there!
