Meditation Can Be Dangerous LOL!

I recently converted to meditation to relieve some of my stress. My job is fast-paced and I work long hours. By the time I get home from the rat race, I am exhausted and irritable. I started meditating after dinner each night and I have been feeling much better. In fact, my family is not afraid of approaching me any longer.

My only problem is this; while I am meditating, my mind wanders off to some deep places and odd things occur. It's as if I am in a half-sleep half-awake state and my imagination runs wild. Sometimes, I actually fall asleep and tip over - that is why I bought a padded mat. Now, when I have these madcap hallucinations, I will not hurt myself. Below is an example of the absurd on goings in my brain while meditating.

In this half-awake half-asleep condition, I dreamt that I had wired up a hotplate in my truck so I could cook my breakfast while driving to work. This particular day, I made eggs Benedict. Getting the Hollandaise sauce just right was a real bear. Anyway, right when I was plating the dish, I hit a speed bump and the Benedict - living up to its name - betrayed me.

My delicately delicious sauce was splattered all over my windshield and I could not see a thing. I was just about to apply my brakes when I heard A/C D/C's "Highway to Hell" come on the radio- and that was egregiously appropriate. I managed to drive off a cliff and I was plummeting toward Earth at the exact speed of gravity.

I had a brainstorm and I prepared to employ my life-saving maneuver. A few feet before impact, I would step out of the truck and the vehicle would be destroyed, yet I would remain unharmed and land softly on my feet just like in those Bugs Bunny cartoons.

Then my face planted on the mat in front of me. That woke me up immediately!

How very entertaining! I do some meditating now and then also but usually I'm too lazy to sit in that position on the floor. Plus my knees are pretty banged up so it's a little hard for me to get get there. But I can understand where your mind goes while you're out there in meditation land. Your description was so very well done I saw your waking dream in my head. Good job!
