feelin' super-mom ish today!
Jeep adventures and work
it is not often, as a mom, that I feel as though I am doing something right. I mean, I get impatient and grouchy... I work my butt off for no pay or appreciation (that's the mom job which is my favorite of all) then there's working in the studio, again pay is not great most of the time, kinda hit-and-miss... then there is WA, work my butt off and have not seen results (expected though only doing this a few months)......so, there is three full time jobs, no money and not much time to do anything else so it's no wonder I get impatient and grouchy now and then right? well...... I can't believe it but I actually got 1 1/2 articles written today, got the finished one published and managed a jeep adventure to the lake complete with picnic, mini hike and swimming! The lake we went to is more the "tourist" lake (beautiful place) - it has a concreted path most of the way around complete with metal steps on many of the steep parts of the path... it's full of people... which is great, but I normally head out onto the trails to find a quiet spot on the river or one of the less "found" lakes over going to the crowded ones with concrete paths..... that said, we had just a couple hours between everything else so it was the closest and quickest option at just a 20 minute drive from our house.... and I have to say that good old Pinecrest Lake saved me today. Not only did it save the day, I have found a way to weave our adventure into my niche - so I got to work while having fun! I am liking this job more and more every day.... we got to spend the afternoon at a beautiful lake, enjoy each other, take the jeep out (which is fun with or without a destination) and I got a full day's work in with the bonus of a new article idea.... without any fights between kids or major catastrophes (major feat!).So, should I completely go MIA from WA at any point..... I am enjoying my new toy (the jeep) with my kids and we are likely adventuring in our mountains camping, hiking and generally just enjoying our life! Work is great and necessary - but for now, I am so thankful that I don't have to do the 9-5 race and I can play with my kids and use it to make income (someday soon)....
just had to share, we are having too much fun not to... and I am feeling pretty amazing to have written, played and had time left to do a tad more after play time - and when I, as a mom can feel good about work and parenting all at the same time I think it's an accomplishment in itself!!!Recent Comments

Brilliant post. Thanks for sharing. i feel everything the same here, working my regular job, being a mum, housewife, partner, etc etc, some times you do feel overwhelmed by all the boring stuff but sometimes just sometimes a small piece of you just gets it right and its a good feeling and ok to share that. celebrate those moments and stop feeling guilty. Life can be hard sometimes but it is exactly these moments which make it all worth while.. Well done for noticing them too cause its easy to let them slide by......
