An Awesome Journey So Far
Hey, how's it going? Just posting my first progress report on how things are going for me here on WA. I started up last Saturday (July 28) on the Starter membership, created my free website and went through the first level of entrepreneurship training quite rapidly. I've had previous experience with working with Wordpress, and I am a bit of a writer.
So I learned a lot that I didn't know even within the Wordpress platform, but I probably had the advantage of past experience to help me rocket through a lot of it. The Templates for writing were an awesome help too. I also have been thinking a lot lately about the kind of niche that I was hoping to set myself up towards - basically students like myself who are out to achieve great results academically, but who also have a burden to secure a healthy mindset, lifestyle and diet for themselves, but who can feel limited by their regular student budget which is often pretty tight.
Personally over the past few weeks, I've been working towards getting my life more organised. Just got a new laptop and a new phone, and wanted to nail down a better approach to providing for myself in terms of good food, that was both time efficient and within my budget. Obviously that project is always on-going, but I have managed so far to achieve something pretty encouraging, and definitely shareable in terms of my achievement with my breakfast smoothies and my other healthy food that I produce with my rice cooker so that I can provide good food for myself cheaply and efficiently - I can even take some with me on Campus so that I avoid having to spend the often exhorbitant prices of food being sold on Campus.
So with all of that as my personal backdrop, it really was the perfect time for me to find this site.
Over the next three months, I've got my studies obviously. Currently studying Bachelor of Business and a Diploma of Languages in Japanese. So this trimester I'm studying:
- Japanese 1B
- Digital & Social Media Marketing
- Negotiation
- Business Ethics & Corporate Governance
So I'll be putting energy towards that obviously, but on the side, I'm encouraged for now that I have this blog now for sharing my story and my experience, which I love to do. I love to contribute to other people's learning and betterment. Also beyond that, I'm imagining as I am about to embark into Level 3 of the course and beyond, that I'm going to learn more about monetising what I'm doing, which is exciting.
Six months from now, I will have completed another course over my summer trimester - which is called "Self-Marketing" which is all about self-awareness and reflection, working on your pitch, and ultimately applying the marketing process to yourself to get where you're wanting to get to. Obviously this course will work quite nicely with this process of setting up the site and my business. So I'm imagining that by then, what I'm just laying the foundation for now in terms of my business, Pidgethink, will definitely be humming along and on its way towards growing and developing more and more in its persona and presentation.
Glad to be aboard here and have already learned so much.

You will be a very busy person for a while. Good luck\Jerry
For sure, and that is how I like it, as long as its a good kind of busy that isn't just about "doing stuff" but its all about "building/investing into lasting assets," which is what building a brand/business is all about. Ultimately then, I'll work on adding to my "To Stop" list as I find partners who have the same passions and aspirations as me, and we can work together as a team. I can delegate areas of responsibility to others who may be more suited to that particular area than I am.
I'm definitely a people person, love making contact and corresponding. I also really love writing and sharing ideas. Probably will eventually look to connect to someone who can be more of the timing/scheduling role who can make sure the people that I connect with are getting followed up and taken care of, and then beyond that, eventually someone who is more systems orientated who can help with the more grindy elements of business.
Eventually growing and developing into a dynamic team will be awesome.
