With the vast majority of online businesses failing it is imperative to arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible to succeed. Unfortunately, knowledge alone will not guarantee success. Persistent action on a consistent basis is what is needed to separate you from the majority who fail.
By improving your Grit, you can be persistent in taking action. What is Grit you ask? Grit is a person’s passion for a particular long-term goal, and is accompanied with a powerful motivation to achieve the particular objective. Research done by Dr. Angela Duckworth indicates that Grit is a far better predictor of success than ability or IQ.
Grit differs from perseverance in that Grit is only present when perseverance is part of your vision or goal. It is thus not Grit when your perseverance is part of some else’s goal or passion. Since we as Wealthy Affiliate members are part of a community that wants to build their hobbies as a business, it is vital to be “Gritty” to succeed.

So how do we increase our Grit? The simple act of visualization can help you become more “Gritty”. There are two forms of visualizations; outcome visualization and process visualizations. Outcome visualization is where you see yourself achieving the particular outcome, for example achieving your goal weight. Whereas process visualization involves visualizing yourself exercising, eating healthy, etc. to achieve your goal of losing weight. Research has shown that the latter is more effective in losing weight because you are visualizing doing the hard work instead of merely hoping to attract the outcome by thinking about it.
In a business setting it is important to remind yourself that it will take hard work to succeed, but despite it taking hard work that you will put In the effort to achieve success. To persist and keep on putting in the effort will ensure that you will eventually achieve the success you desire.
What do you think? Do you have the Grit that is needed to succeed? I would love to hear from you guys.
