Time for Fun is Essential to Your Success

I haven't written a blog here at Wealthy Affiliate for a while. I have been busy building my websites. Today I wanted to share with you an important concept in our success.

In order to avoid burnout you MUST take time out to enjoy life and have FUN

This is something I learned a long time ago. I know most of us here are still trying to build our businesses. So, I am sure most of us are still working full time jobs as well until we make it to that magic moment where our business sustains us.

It is vitally important that we remember to live our lives. We have to find a balance between work and pleasure.

Think about it this way. What is your motivation to build a successful online affiliate business? Like me you probably want to work from anywhere and enjoy your life. I think it is important to start that now. Here is what I mean.

Burnout is Real Ladies and Gentlemen

About a year ago I tried to build an affiliate business with builderall. Now builderall has a lot of good training and I wanted to take advantage of it. So I would work all day then come home and work all night with minimal breaks. I did this for almost a month straight. I got burned out hard. I couldn't handle that pace and it wasn't doing me much good. So I got frustrated and stopped.

If I had kept going for a few more months I would have probably already made my millions by now. It wasn't that I was doing something wrong. I had been writing decent content and I had a couple sales funnels running. However, I was so tire that I couldn't write high converting Facebook ads and my content started to suffer.

I started thinking that that level of work was not what I signed up for. I couldn't see myself making passive income so I figured it would always be like that and I quit. Now I realize that the truth is we don't have to cram so hard even at the beginning. Yes we need to put in that sweat equity to get this thing off the ground. However, we need to also step back and realize that Rome wasn't build in a day.

Can we write 5 posts a day?

Absolutely there is definately time for that if we figure 1 hour per post then we could push it to write 5 posts a day after work. Does it really have an effect? Not really google is still going to take a few months at the very least to rank your content. Better to stick to a more manageable 1 post per day.

So let's look at my normal day now. I go to work for 8 hours. I come home cook and eat supper with my family. Spend some time with my family. Then spend a couple hours working on my sites and other business stuff. Then I go to bed and get a good nights sleep. On the weekends I may spend 4 or 5 hours working on my business. However, the majority of my time I spend with my family or enjoying my games and other relaxing things.

I am living my life the way I want to live it when I become full time online. I just have a little less time to spend enjoying life right now. That thought is what keeps me motivated. I look at it this way. If I am spending 2 to 3 hours a day working on my business in 1 years time I will be reaping the rewards and can quit my job freeing up 40 hours more a week for FUN. Plus I will have even more money to have fun with.

I have put out more quality content spending 2 to 3 hours on my business than I ever put out working 5 to 6 hours a day. The reason is simple I am more alert and can focus easily because I am not staying up till 2 am, writing then getting up at 6:30am to go to work.

Quality is the key not necessarily quantity.

The quality of our posts is directly proportional to getting better google rankings. Pushing ourselves to the brink to make it happen faster may in fact crush your chances of ranking all together.

The moral of this story is to find a balance in your life between work and play. I thought of this post idea today when I was at Six Flags Fright Fest with my family. I felt more relaxed and focused. So I wanted to share my thoughts with all of you.

Feel free to join the conversation below. I am sure I am not the only one who has burnt out before lets uplift the community together and encourage our fellow members to have fun while they build their business.

Yes it's all about balance. At the beginning it is so exciting learning all this new information and then one day you think, I just need a break and to slow down. I guess the trick is to slow but not stop and create a new plan of action with some fun and relaxation in there.

Thanks for the remind and sharing

Yes it is hardest at the beginning when you are gung ho and excited. You are right that the trick is to stay moving forward and not stop. I think of it as slow and steady wins the race.

I like this a lot. And that it comes from your personal experience. Thanks for the reminder we have a life, too. 😊

Sometimes we need a reminder. We get so driven that we forget to savor the little things in life
