Russia / Twitter

The Russian internet watchdog is angry because Twitter fails to remove illegal content. The company is now fined 3.2 million rubles (more than 35,000 euros) from a Russian court. This includes messages calling on teenagers to participate in prohibited protests. Stories are also reported about drug abuse and child pornography.

Google

Currently, Android apps can see which other apps are installed on a phone or tablet. From May 5, Google would like to limit this. This was announced by the company itself. As a reason, Google believes that there is a possibility of abuse in the current situation. More specifically, they think of data that could be offered for sale. An exception is still made for browsers and anti-virus software, for example, Google reports. The new rules also do not apply to financial apps for security reasons.

Myanmar

Mobile internet was previously shut down in Myanmar. Now the internet would be further restricted by the military. For example, telecom companies would be forced to stop offering wireless internet connections. Nobody knows exactly why they do this, but it is suspected that it concerns images of protests circulating on social media. This was reported today by the Reuters news agency.

I am amazed at how much power the military has in some countries. Yes, your quote fits them perfectly.

The quote is very true, indeed, Peter!
