Huffington Post offers Advice on Affiliate Marketing geared toward Amazon

I actually got a chuckle when I found this article - http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/13105010.

It claims there are 10 "Easy" ways to increase your revenue as an Amazon Affiliate. One thing I have discovered as I progress in the training, and as my websites experience growth - nothing comes "easy".

It would be nice if all our traffic converted to sales, but that just is not the case.

From the article, there are some things I did agree with (some of which I have not tried yet). It mentions using popups to basically interview each visitor, then, based on the answers they provide, link them to the appropriate content (and, to the appropriate Amazon products). I actually think this is an amazing way of dealing with potential customers...when I worked as an Engineer, I often had to close 6-digit contracts on the spot. One of the techniques I found most successful was interviewing the customer, and allowing them to actually explain to me why they needed my help...it is honest, and it fulfills the needs of the customer - it is just not as intuitive as most people think...it is less selling, and more interviewing, really.

The other recommendation from the article that I took to heart was the recommendation about "international commissions". I wasn't aware that my US links needed any tweeting when it comes to international customers - apparently it does matter. If someone out there knows what plugin to use for Wordpress, please let me know.

One of the dominant themes from the article is what Kyle has been teaching in all his lessons - quality content is the most important part of your website.

Anyway, i thought I would share this article with everyone...please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or feedback.

I will drop a line to Kyle, I am glad this information is helpful.

An interesting article. Thank you. If you find out about that international plug in please let me know.

Will do. I never even considered the international aspect, but after reading the article, it kind of makes sense.

Yeah, I was looking at Google analytics and I had a visitor from Russia. I thought great. I thought the affiliate code in my links would take care of me getting credit. We have members all around the world. The products in my case are all in the US and will be shipped world wide. I don't understand the need for a plug in Word Press.

There are a few different plugins that can localize your links based on the user's location. I haven't started using a plugin yet, so I can't recommend a particular one personally, but here is one that I found doing a quick google search (https://wordpress.org/plugins/link-localizer).

One thing you should note, is that you still have to sign up for each international Amazon site that you want to get credit for and get an affiliate ID from each site.

Great information, thank you. I will take a closer look at my analytics...it seems I am getting some regular traffic from locations other than North America.
