Are You Multi-tasking?
The trouble with multi-tasking is that we’re splitting up our brain resources and giving less attention to each task. We’re probably preforming badly on all of them. When trying to do more than one thing, the brain dedicates one half of our gray matter to each task.
What our brain does when asked to multi-task is called context- switching. Our brains can not handle two tasks simultaneously, so it switches back and forth using important brain power just for the switching.
Do yourself a big favor and just do one thing at a time, You’ll ge better results and most likely save yourself time in not having to redo anything!

Multi tasking comes with the territory especially if you are operating in this industry by your self. I think that you are correct in saying do one thing at a time, the list for the day may have ten things on it, but sticking to one thing and seeing it through works well.
Oh my gosh! I would be buried at work if I didn't multi task. I suppose after doing it for so many years you learn how to deal with it and get better with it. I would love to be able to concentrate on one task, then move to another, etc. You can imagine running a production facility has a constant flow of ... Challenges... to deal with all at once, all day long.
Yes, my brain needs a break :0)
Thanks Patricia!
Have a great weekend!
When I'm busy at my "day job" I find that I can easily switch between tasks and get more done. This multi-tasking only applies to certain tasks. On the flip-side, when I write, I focus entirely on writing.
Hello Patricia
I agree to a certain degree, but multitasking is a skill that can be learned over time, with what is commonly known as muscle memory, remember the brain is a muscle too.
In our modern world, multitasking is practically a prerequisite for success.
All the best
