Beware of email scam!

Hello everyone in WA, this is the first blog I am writing since joining on 23rd October 2016. So far I feel great here in WA making new friends and learning niche and going through the online course 1 up to lesson 5 at present.

I finally purchased one domain to try on 27th October 2016.

Imagine my surprise, I received a notification on my email on 31st October 2016 to register for my domain name search engine listing. It stated my customers will not be able to locate me if I did not register by 11:59 pm.

I just came home from bus driving job about 11:30pm that night feeling sleepy and tired and I just clicked on the link stated. I came to a page asking to pay by credit card of $47. I started to become suspicious thinking why I must be rushed to pay with short deadline. I go back to the original email and noticed that they addressed me as Registration Private. I wondered shoulden they knew my name since I purchased the domain with my name.

Luckily, I did an internet engine search on their address 'domains@listingdomsearch.com' and someone mentioned them as scam.

At first I was somewhat disturbed and discouraged by this. I then communicated with Frank 'affilicoach' the one who led me to WA through his website. I told him about this email scam and also asked about other questions about my niches. Frank encouraged me and answered my questions. So here I am again ready to continue in WA.

I encourage you to use the SiteRubix portal feature to search for and register domain name selections. The WA service includes WhoIsGuard protection and the cost is competitive with other reputable domain registrars such as NameCheap and GoDaddy.

But the process of setting up your website with your selected domain name is so much simpler. Do a WA search above to get some community input on the value of Site Domains.

I'm glad you did enough due diligence to avoid the Scam. I wish you the best on your WA journey.

Hello Dennis,
Thank you for your very useful information.

Hi Paul,

Registering a domain name makes you more vulnerable for scams. I am glad you took a moment to check into things and avoided any potential issues.

Thank you for liking my first blog and writing your comments.

However, I am Paul and not Frank.

Frank is the one that led me to WA through his website using 'affilicoach' in WA. I am grateful to Frank that I am able to choose to join WA.

So sorry for the confusion, Paul! I edited my comment. I am so glad you're here! - Joy
