Back To The Drawing Board

As I have been going through the training the last few days, I noticed the "My Blog" button. Now I understood you can write a post directly in WP or within the WA platform on the dashboard. (which is preferred and in our best interest given the functionality and the tools available to us with in) So with curiosity I did what anyone would do and I clicked on it. And to my surprise, "My Blog" is different from writing a post on the content dashboard. It appears to be a dedicated channel within WA network. And with good reason, share some info on where you are at, ask some questions, look for some advice, basically anything that is appropriate and related to this network. Which I see now why people say this is more than an online course to learn about affiliate marketing.

INTRODUCTION

I had first started with WA about 1 1/2 years ago prior to closing the doors to my construction company. My partner had embezzled 1/4 million dollars from the company over the course of a year, and I had no idea until I hired a forensic accountant. Ended up not just destroying the business, but I was so obsessedwith salvaging what ever was left of the company, that my marriage was ruined as well. I still remember the sick feeling I had in my stomach when I couldn't get to the bank quick enough and everything I had left was on its way to the levy department, to never be seen again.

In search for an answer I turned to the internet to see what all the hype was about with affiliate marketing. I had a customer mention affiliate marketing to me when talking about what he did for a living. He had explained to me how relaxing his life was and it sounded amazing but a title far-fetched. Of course, I didn't have the details, just bragging rights from someone who has been in the business for years. Once I got started with WA I started to see where things were going and after maybe 2 months, if that, I did exactly what I was advised to too. Jumped ship.

FUNNELS & SOLO ADS

With little education of how Affiliate Marketing really is done effectively, I was off and running like a mad man buying every online course, boot camp, funnel hacking membership, you name it, I bought it. I was only working with parts of a blueprint that is designed to work a specific way. Sure their are people who choose to do things different, but the overall logistic , structure of affiliate marketing, freelance marketing, digital marketing is the same. And if you miss one of the important steps, well its like when you build a house, if you don't mix the concrete correctly, miss some expansion joints or pour the slab incorrectly not matching the plans, the structure will fall.

In the back of my head I knew I was going to fast, even hiring freelancers on fiverr or up work couldn't save me. As soon as I made a few thousand dollars, it was sucked up on advertising on Google, bing, or solo ads. When you're running solo ads to an offer, its important to have the funnel designed efficiently. You want to capture their information so whether they buy or not you can re target them. It becomes your life line and most of your money will come from their after they build trust with you. But I was to focused on having the right promotion and buying solo ads to educate myself with pixels or tracking links like I should've been.

HIT THE BREAKS

Enough was enough, I knew that I needed to hit the brakes and go back to the drawing board. Since it was always in the back of my mind I already knew where to go. Pulled up WA and wouldn't you know, my login still worked and everything. Just 2 days later I get an email from Kyle, saying, Hey, welcome back. LOL I guess I couldn't blame him for saying I told you so.

AUTHORITY

It's been just a few weeks and I have bee slowly pulling away from the 45 funnels I have in CF to give WA my undivided attention. It's time to fill in the blanks and stop chasing my tail. Learning things the hard way sometimes is necessary, but why take that rout when their is a much easier efficient route available? I can already see the infrastructure that I was missing. My site can be navigated without confusion, making it a much better experience. Topics are all relevant and the content gives value. Building trust will be much easier going forward, its just a matter of following the blueprint laid out for you at WA and the rest will come together. Once I am ready, I will then restructure my other sites content in attempt to grow an authority. Glad to be back!
