My Progress Update

In fact this is actually my first blog :) Although I've been part of WA for a month now (very part-time), I've found myself looking forward to Friday nights and the whole weekend to spend on training and building my website.

The first challenge of course, was thinking of a niche. My first attempt was quickly kicked aside when I found someone else had used the domain name I wanted BUT that 'someone else' had extremely bad fraudulent feedback posted to and about their website. On to my next idea, which is my current niche - The Perfect Fit. My website is all about shoes for 'not-so-standard' feet :) I've had a bunch of laughs with my family and friends along my short journey to this point, particularly with finding a catchy domain name, but I've also enjoyed each step immensely.

My successes have to be the development of my website and content in my posts. Although they're not perfect, they have been an accomplishment for me personally. To put icing on the cake, are all the supportive comments on my posts. It's so encouraging and I'm so thankful.

My goals over the next month will be to finish the training and hopefully have my 1st website up and running. Over the next 6 months, hopefully it may be gaining more traffic and who knows, it might be making $$'s. I have plans to start another niche website within this 6 month period as well so a year down the track, who knows I might be able to reduce my full-time work hours and spend an additional day on niche marketing :)

Those are realistic goals for me and I am confident I'll get there in the end. This whole journey reminds me of the half marathon I 'walked'. I had planned my training carefully for at least 3 months before the big day. My overall goals were to 1. ENJOY it no matter what; and 2. FINISH it if I could. To do this I had planned to walk at a steady pace through the whole 21 kms and you know what, I did it. The elation of crossing the finish line is something I'll remember for a very long time. The other point worth mentioning is the people you pass along the way, the encouragement you give to others and the helping hand to those who started with a hiss and a roar but needed a shoulder to lean on to get to the finish line. Yes, I relate my journey with WA to that of my endurance with the half marathon and how much I enjoyed it - can't wait till the end!

Hi Pauline,
Just want to wish you all the best with your online journey and your website. We have similar goals and can support each other. I have found my niche now :) and am going to attempt building my first website. Wish I had the finances to go premium immediately but we recently moved to the countryside - a bit remote, so I am currently looking for work.

Hi Marita. Go at your own pace. I've seen a few followers of mine who joined at the same time, well ahead of me but that's inspiring. I'll watch out for your posts or blogs to WA. Have fun with the training.
Pauline

Hi Pauline,

Thanks for sharing this post. Everyone works at a different pace so stay true to yourself and keep working towards your goals.

I love your niche! It's so hard to find narrow or wide shoes that look great and are comfortable. I look forward to checking out your blog.

Hi Lorrie. Thanks for the support, I really appreciate it.

A great post for a first post Pauline. You sometimes have to put unique elements in your URL to get it approved like your name.

Thanks for your support. Do you mean signing off with my name? Or something else?

If "perfectpets" is taken. Use "petsbypauline"

Gotcha! Thanks
