The Power of Google Plus

So, I've just added another post onto my blog with a keyword I dug up in Jaaxy.

As soon as I finished, I went through the process of submitting it to Facebook, sending a message out to my list, fetching it in Google console, and then finally to Google +.

Out of curiosity I decided to Google the keyword, and BAM, there was my post to Google + on page 1, position 2 of Google.

That was literally within 3 minutes of submitting it....

Of course the website post is nowhere to be seen yet, and that will take time.

However, I'm not too concerned about that because my presence is there on page 1 already with a link back to my website.

If you're not using Google Plus yet, then I strongly suggest you open an account and upload links and a keyword description for every post you do.

Good luck.

Paul

Thanks, Paul! I never used Google+ but I'll give it a try.

Hi Fran.
It’s a shame that Google are planning to shut it down because it’s a good platform that Ranks quickly.
That said I’m still putting posts up there because I’m sure Google will leave all existing posts alone and rebrand Google Plus as something else.
All the best.
Paul

What do you do Paul? Just post your website's post on G+ or an excerpt with link? I'm new to the platform.

So get yourself a G+ account by using an existing google account or get a new Gmail relevant to your niche.
Log in via the G+ tab in those little square boxes on the google home page and select the box that says What’s new with you on the G+ home page.
That will open a dialogue box for you to write your post or link back to a blog post on your website.
You can either add an image to start followed by a brief intro and then the link back to your blog post, or if you drop the url in at the top it will pull through the first image from your post and a bit of a description.
My advice though is to use maybe your first paragraph as your description as it’s usually captivating and has the Meta description in it.
If it’s your first time though you may have to go through a set up procedure first.
Good luck
Paul
Ps. Google + will reject any posts written inside WA so only link back to your own blog

Thank you very much for such an accurate explanation.

I set up my account yesterday, after reading your post. I just wasn't sure how to share the articles, if just a brief description with the link or the entire post (that would probably be duplicated content).

It's a pitty that WA posts can't be shared. Have you tried using a link shortener?

To be honest I haven’t but might be worth a try.
I’ve never worried about a short paragraph being picked up as duplicate content either, but again might be worth mixing it up a little.

I might have not explained myself properly. I was afraid that by just reproducing the whole post in G+, they'd look at my website as duplicate content, not the paragraph.

About the link shortener, social networks usually don't accept affiliate links, but through link shorteners they do.

Bit.ly is free and a good way to try, I'll try it myself and let you know.

Thanks Fran.
Going back to the duplicate content, I tend to use G+ as a link to get readers onto my site.
I don’t think I’ve written a whole post there but I suppose there must be some merit in it.

Looking forward to hearing your results with a link shortner 👍

You're right Paul, google plus is a great help! We should all use it more. Thanks for the reminder!

Blessings,
Debby
