Actions For Success - There's Always a Way Back

If you're feeling a bit defeated, or a little unsure of whether you have the courage to make it and reach your success, I want to share a little story with you.

I hope you enjoy it, and that you take some encouragement from it.

Once upon a time a young donkey asked his grandfather, “How do I grow up to be just like you?”

“Oh, that’s easy”, the elder donkey said.

“All you have to do is to remember to shake it off and step up”.

“What does that mean?” asked the young donkey.

The grandfather replied, “Let me tell you a story”

“Once, when I was about your age, I was out walking and slipped and fell into an old abandoned well. I started praying and praying that I would be found soon. Finally an old farmer passed by and saw me but he soon left and I stayed in that well all night. It was very frightening.”

“The next morning he came back with a group of villagers and they looked down on me. Some of them even laughed and dropped stones into the well. Then I heard the farmer say that the well is abandoned, and that donkey probably isn’t worth saving, so let’s get to work”

“At this moment I started to panic fearing I was going to be buried alive”.

“But after the first shovels of dirt came down and landed on my back, I realized I could shake it off and step up to a new level!

They kept shoveling, and I kept shaking it off and stepping up. This went on for some time”

“Shake it off, and step up….Shake it off, and step up….Shake it off, and step up.”

I kept repeating it over and over again for encouragement, and by repeatedly shaking it off and stepping up, the panic subsided until eventually I was able to step right out of that well…Exhausted but triumphant!”

“I learned a valuable lesson that day. However bad or frightening the challenge ahead, or however much dirt or rejection gets dumped on me, I just remember…

Shake it off, and step up”

Shaking it off is the most important lesson in this old story.

If we can shake it off then the stepping up becomes easy.

When we don’t shake it off it builds up on our backs and minds until it overwhelms us and prevents any forward motion in our lives, relationships and business.

To build a successful online business we must learn to shake off our fears…Shake off our worries…shake off our temporary failures and self-limiting beliefs.

Yes, sometimes things go wrong or not to plan. We make the wrong decision or no decision at all, but we have to shake it off and step up.

Our ability to shake things off buys us that time and energy we need to fight on and win.

Only then will we step out of that well into the sunshine, triumphant
