Progress – Slow and Steady Hopefully Wins the Race
What can I say about my progress here at Wealthy Affiliate? Honestly, it’s much slower than most people at WA. Why? Not much time.
A Niche Fit for Geeks
Yep, it’s computer parts. Only a few hard liners really build their own computer towers like me, and I’ve been doing it since 2003. I have another niche ready to explore, which is Web Design, which I’ve been doing since 2007.
Frustrated Affiliate
Over the span of about 5 or 6 years, I’ve used Clickbank, Commission Junction, Rakuten Linkshare, Share-a-Sale, Amazon Associates a couple of times, and a few more without ever earning a commission. I’ve made a little bit with Google Adsense and created a few Facebook ads. I tried a Shopify store for phone accessories dropshipping with Oberlo that never panned out. I’m about to call it quits because I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, and that is one reason I joined WA to find out what to do.
Progress – Give and Take
My progress is slower than molasses. I joined toward the end of August 2018 and the highest my ranking has been so far is almost 40000 a couple of weeks ago, and now it’s almost back up to 50000 again. Wow, it changes quickly if you don’t stay with it.
Successes Over the Last 10 Years
Earning both Associate of Applied Science and Baccalaureate of Science degrees. Being part of an Honor Society in college. Working full time as a Computer Support Technician specializing working on Servers. Rebounding as a Sketch Artist and getting my talents back from my youth.
3-Month Plan
I hope to be able to spend more time on Wealthy Affiliate and get a work opportunity closer to home, so I can spend more time on WA.
6-Month Plan
Work from home as an affiliate and/or providing computer support or Web design services. Thus, getting ready to retire happily. I’m almost 60 right now.
Suggestions Needed
With this post and what I put before you, any suggestions or advice would be helpful. I really want to make this work and not quit, which is never an option for me.
Private message me if you want or reply to this post, and I’ll take everything to heart.
Final Thoughts
Everyone here has been most helpful, and I hope to return the favor in some way. I know a lot about WordPress and a little about copywriting, which are also some of my interests

HiPaul good to meet you looks like you have been around the internet block.
I think the thing is the time to put in is the thing that can really help us to build momentum. Especially that unencumbered time.
One of the things that have helped me is that I do a lot on the go, I run two mobile phones and cart an old battered laptop everywhere I go, so it gets easier to do things in that little downtime amongst other things like work-work.
When you get into it....... it can be like adding another four hours to the day, worked a treat.
The good thing about WA is that we are all on the same journey and it is good to share with like-minded folks. Working through the training can help to build that solid foundation one of those cases where all we have to do is follow and implement.
Best wishes.
Wow, thanks Alex. I'm really being too hard on myself and need to ease up from the negativity I exemplify sometimes. Though, I tend to be my harshest critic. I feel that I'm in the right place here at WA, and I will make it a point to devote more time to my future success. Thanks again.
Don't sweat it Paul can all be hard on ourselves, getting into an eco-environment like WA can be that game changer that many seek, this combined with the resources that come with our membership can definitely tip the scales in our favor.
Best wishes you will get there this time.
