Keep the flame always burning

It's been a while since I've written...

I share with you something to reflect on:

A man who regularly attended meetings with his friends, without warning stopped participating.

After a few weeks, one very cold night, a member of the group decided to visit him.

He found the man at home, alone, sitting in front of a fireplace where a bright, cozy fire was burning.

Guessing the reason for the visit, the man welcomed him.

There was a great silence.

The two men just watched the dance of the flames around the logs. After a few minutes without saying a word, he examined the fathoms that were forming and selected one of them, the most incandescent of all, removing it to one side of the brazier with tongs.

He then sat down again.

The host paid attention and before long, the flame of the solitary ember diminished, until there was only an instantaneous glow and the fire went out.

Suddenly. In a short time, what was a display of light and warmth, was nothing but a black, cold, dead lump of coal.

Very few words had been spoken after the greeting.

The visitor, before preparing to leave with the tongs, returned the cold and useless coal, placing it back in the middle of the fire.

Immediately, the ember rekindled, fueled by the light and heat of the burning coals around him.

And the host said to him: Thank you for your visit and for your beautiful lesson. I will soon return to the group.

Such is the incredible community I have been a part of for many years. Its members are the ones who keep it going every day through their daily postings.

There was not a single day that I did not receive from other members their posts that said "here I am".

Telling different stories, informative tutorials, motivational messages, positive idea generators, I have learned a lot from them.

I have no doubt that I have found a treasure, which shines brighter every day.
