My Website is Live!

I thought I would write an update. So my website is live at last (not the photo above - I wish!) However, I have a question.... I have heard that you can purchase templates from Wordpress which can save you a lot of time and can create better templates than the ones offered. I have found a brilliant template I can purchase which really fits in with the theme of my website. Is it possible to do this within Wealthy Affliate and if so how can I import my purchased template into this? Many thanks :)

Just happen to see this Cheryl, the theme you use does not affect the WA platform. You can use any theme you chose, if I understand you correctly.

Yes I think I’ve mastered this now. As long as it can be downloaded to a zip file then I can just import it. Which is great. I’m going to change all this once my content has been created as it will probably all change again anyway. But I have in my head the look I’m going for. Thanks for your comment, appreciate it. :)

Exactly, go with what you're looking for, but you might have to change everything around with the new theme. Everything might be out of place. You'll see, but you can do it. Get it girl!

You're welcome darling.

Very good information down in your back and forth, Cheryl! I hope you get everything sorted the way that you want it!

Thanks Jeff. The support here is fantastic and couldn’t do this without the support of the community. Exciting times!

You're welcome, Cheryl, and these ARE exciting times, indeed!

So glad you were able to get your website up. Nice Job.
Ok your question.

What WP theme are you currently using?
Do you already have a block editor installed?
Some themes give you very nice free templates. Check those out first.

By going into Google you can type in WP theme free templates and then you can look at them. (for example: generatepress free theme templates free) We use Astra which uses the elementor block editor) They have both free and paid templates. you may see a "site library" where they are provided.
You need to purchase the paid .themes from the company that creates them not WA.

Thank you for responding, much appreciated. So the theme I want to use is on the following link:

https://themeforest.net/item/greenbee-vegetable-and-fruit-shop-shopify-theme/30147501

I know I need to purchase it, but it does say it does work with word press. But I think this will give me more of a look I want to go with for my website plus make it easier to edit. have had a look at all the templates that are free on word press but they are too basic for the look I am trying to create. But the question is once I purchase this, how do I import this onto my website here?

Thank you :)

Although this one is free and does not look too bad. But not sure how I import this into here:

I believe they will give you a download zip file.
Take the zip file and go into your website
WP dashboard -> appearance -> themes -> add new -> at the top by add themes upload themes -> choose file (find the zip file on you PC (it must be a zip file to work). then Install now.

We have done it may times. The first time we were very hesitant..

Perfect, thank you for your help! :)

Is this also offered at themeforest?
Who is the theme company presenting the free one?

Go to their main site and look for it and they will provide a download button. which should put it in computer download file.

I managed to download a plugin actually from wordpress for free and it extracted as a zip file and I have imported it into here and it worked like you suggested. So thank you so much for your help with this! I have not purchased the actual one I want yet, I'm going to try and work with this free one first, but if it is not fit for purpose I can always purchase the other template and upload it in the same way. Just going to work on my content first. Appreciate the help though, I understand how all this works now :)

Also to answer your question envatomarket offer good templates where the theme forest is on. This appears to work in the same way. The free one was on Astra which I had a look at after you suggested it. However I think some files on envatomarket only offer the option of downloading to ThemeForest Files Included PHP Files, CSS Files or JS Files so just need to be careful as they might not go into zip files.

Terrific! Glad I could help.

Your focus on content first sounds great! That is what gives you income. Like Kyle always says a sites content is more important than its beauty and bells and whistles. Besides after you add more content you may change your opinion of what you want the website to look like.

Nice job!

100% agree. I can always focus on making it pretty at the end. I think its better to just work through the training, work on my content and I can play around with it at the end. Like you pointed out, I might change my mind anyway once I have created it. Thank you again for all your help, much appreciated. :)
