I understand the difference between posts and pages; I've created both on the site I am working on. But my question is, besides 'Privacy Policy' and 'About Me' pages, are static

You can manipulate your theme setting to your own preference. Most people have blog rolls which showcase the latest post. A static page is just a default page which your readers will automatically become acquainted with. There's no wrong or right answer, your choice!

Yes those are both necessary they donn't have to be your front page

Thanks for the reply Alan. I am going to have the posts as my homepage but the content that I would have used on a Static page I would rather post. That way I can keep the site fresh by adding posts every couple of days, rather than having lots of info on a static page. Cheers, Paul.
