Some Helpful Posts I Have Read. For Newbies in Course 1

Famous for getting sidetracked (not saying that is a bad thing), I tend to follow every link reference when I am learning or just reading, and I never know where I will wind up, but I am pretty sure, I have not finished reading the internet--does any remember that commercial? The internet has a hypnotic power, doctors and scientists say--it's addictive. But one thing I know about myself, I keep reading and clicking because:

  • I have an interest--it doesn't have to be a burning interest,
  • a good writer answering that interest with timely information makes me want to click,
  • and lastly, it's just the nature of the internet beast.

Two hours later and 15 tabs open, another cup of joe or two, I am wondering where that course tab is I left off at. But, it was not in waste.

These are some really helpful posts I've read since day 2..maybe some of these posts are included in later courses or off the beaten path, but one thing is for sure, they are all in WA and they really did help me.

Wealthy Affiliate has been around for sometime now, and there are so many graduates operating now successfully on the internet. They went through the steps, one by one, just like we are. There may members who are familiar with IM speak or others like me that have a little experience and can see that there is some outdated/obsolete information still being linked to in the welcome email pdf's or course 1. At first I got a little confused, then I got a little concerned. So I reached out to @RobinJS who befriended on my very first day with a special email promising me 9 tips from her experience if wanted them--I replied, "yes please with sugar on top."

Anyhow, RobinJS shared with me that Wealthy Affiliate is so very large, with so many pages, and Kyle is slowing weeding those old pages out. In the meantime, I found this helpful article by @TopAcheiver which shows What is outdated/obsolete as of 2015. I know it helped me, because when I got to some training about article marketing on streetarticles.com, I got kind of lost--thinking maybe I was misinformed in my knowledge and I do remember seeing a recorded WAbinar stating Google kind of ignores article marketing because of spammers-it was part of one of those dreadful Google Animal Updates. Anyhow, take a read, it may clear up any confusion should you need it.

Are the IM Terminology Acronyms driving you crazy trying to keep them straight?

Internet affiliate marketing has a vocabulary all it's own--it becomes blended and overlaps with other web design/development, PPC and SEO marketing terms, and more. If you are new to affiliate marketing, it gets confusing fast. Especially when you move in to more areas of our new found trade. Whether you memorize these terms, or just save the link somewhere for later reference, moving on to new topics will be much easier. I found the so very helpful guide, Wealthy Affiliate Internet Marketing Glossary written by @Veronica.l that is bound to help a lot of newbies keep the terminology straight.

On occasion learning something new, we may stumble, get confused, get irritated, you know how that goes, on those days, when you forget why you started or just need a little boost, check out Steve's from I'vetriedthat posts. He actually has many, but these are my current favorites,

Hello Pamela

Here at WA you will never be lost for an answer to a question, or how to complete a procedure or task,

The community here at WA is what makes being a part of this great big learning machine worthwhile.

I am sure you have experienced this already and will agree.

All the best
Gary

Hi Pamela, thanks for your encouragement. Irv.

OH, I so know the feeling you expressed at the beginning of this article. I never know where I will end up either with some many pages open trying so hard to learn everything I can!!
So thank you for the tips above. I will now go and check them out :)) :))

Thanks Carol! There is a lot to learn, but the best thing is, you can start with what you already know, or are learning, step by step and put it into action! Action being the keyword!
