Meaning of Christmas to me

It is in my opinion during this blog, that the true meaning of Christmas is the birth of Jesus. There may be many who do not agree with what I have said but I am just stating what i believe which is in my opinion. It is a time when we should all consider that we as individuals are no different from another individual. We all have eyes to see and if not we have a mind to imagine what is to be seen, we all have a heart that keeps us alive, we all breathe the air.

There are many things that we all have in common and I believe feelings are among them. During this special time of the year, we are given the opportunity of indulging in the act of kindness by helping each other. Actually this opportunity can be felt and shared all year but it is at this time it is most shown and felt by individuals. It can be a simple smile to a stranger that can go a long way, or a little help with someone that has dropped something. It doesn't have to be a major ordeal to make someone feel good. You could hold the door for someone or give a tray of cookies to the neighbor or offer to give someone a ride that is in need. There are so many little ways to help someone where both you and the one you are helping will get a great feeling when it is done. If you are on the receiving end of it, you also get that feeling because you know that someone cares.

The world is getting a little colder by all the technology that makes things impersonal. We are getting farther apart as far as connecting with one another on a personal basis because a lot is done on a computer, or a cell phone. We now do job hunting with online websites where before it used to be that we would go to the establishment that was hiring and apply in person. We no longer have to go to the bank, in front of a teller, to do a deposit, withdraw or transfer because it can all be done on the internet. We have lost that personal touch with our money and soon I am afraid, it will become obsolete. Soon anything you need, or anything you want, or anywhere you want to go will all be done via internet and with no personal touch. To me that is a scary thing.

So this year I wanted to exclaim my worry in hopes that the ordinary individual will recognize these things and maybe use a little personal touch to whatever the modern times have pushed aside. I bet if this is done, that good feeling will rise up in that one that does it.

Again, this is in my opinion. May there be lots of good feelings shared between each and every one of us!
