What exactly are you trying to accomplish here. Woocommerce is geared towards selling your own wares, whereas using Amazon affiliates you are simply linking people from your site to theirs in exchange for a commission.
Two different types of sales and I don't really see the reason for ever wanting to mix the two. One is the sell of your own products (where you deal with all aspects, shipping, accepting payment, etc) and the other is affiliate marketing.

I came by a youtube video: "How to make an amazon affiliate website with wordpress and woocommerce", and started wondering...
So the two are incompatible?
Yeah, there would be no reason to every do this. You are going to learn how to properly integrate your affiliate promotions as you move through the training, don't let "outside" training serve as a distraction (as there is a lot of outdated, false, or useless information about there).

The only time you would use woo commerce is directly with amazon and a store front with amazon. no affiliate sales, etc.
You have or buy products wholesale and sale them on your amazon store.
