Slowly, Yet Assuredly

On the Journey

I am in a motion and I am grateful to myself for not giving up. I must also not forget to thank many good folks in this community for your encouraging posts now and then. Thanks, guys.

My choice of the image in this blog is replete with meanings.

1. The tortoise is known for slow, yet calculated movements.

2. The tortoise usually have a long life span.

3. The tortoise in this image, is moving on a rock.

4. There are trees with blossoming leaves above the tortoise providing succor from the likely scorching sun.

Analysis and relevance

1. I reckon that my rate of learning, development and achievement here is quite slow when compared to some of you guys. My ranking fluctuates most times. But I do not think that I have done badly at all. Today I am ranking at 12754 after 7 weeks in Wealthy Affiliate. I have completed the first 2 courses in the boot camp. I can only get better.

2. My sojourn here is likened to the tortoise in this scenario. I have come to stay. It is going to be a long night guys, but I don't mind. Nothing good come easy. You cannot get gold on the ground by the road side. You have to dig DEEP for it. So I am here for REAL. Therefore, I don't mind the slow speed provided it is steady.

3. The rock here is Wealthy Affiliate folks. Having tried and tested many online income generating avenues, I have come across the good, the bad and the ugly. I tell you, folks, Wealthy Affiliate rank top among the good.
4. In any human endeavor that is billed for success, expectedly, there will be tough times (the scorching sun). I am not unaware that there will be challenging situations.

One of such is this.

For some time I have tried to buy a domain {my first one of course}. I checked for the availability and the name was there. I did all that should be done and paid. I got a receipt accepting the payment. Few minutes later, I received another message that the domain is no longer available and my money will be returned to my account. I tried again until my bank blocked my card. I then ask a question on the way forward from the community. Many thanks to everyone that responded.

After a little while, I needed to use my phone. Whao! My bank had sent a text to me to confirm payment which I did not respond to. The bank automated system thought it was someone else using my card. Bang, it won't go.

I took hold of another bank card, went through the process. Guess what? It went through. I have my first domain name registered. www.innovationmarketingideas.com.

I, again thank you guys here. You are the trees with the blossoming leaves. The scorching sun are the discouragements, challenges, anxieties and fears at times. But you guys are the trees with the blossoming leaves of encouragement through your posts and help.

What next?

No surrender, No Retreat.

For me it is to keep pushing. Every little step in the right direction signifies the end of the journey. There is a time for everything. It is the foundation for me. The anticipated building determines the kind of foundation, you will put in place. I don't mind building a strong foundation. In the Bible we read about two people who built. One on a solid rock and the other on the sand (without a good foundation). The fate of the 2 buildings was tested by the storm.

If you come this far, you first deserve my appreciation. But beyond that, I want to encourage not to be disturbed by the achievement of another person. We all have different lanes to run on. Concentrate on yourself.

Again, never allow yourself to be discouraged by the feeling that you are not doing well. The essence of the Olympic games is not in winning medals (it's good to win medals) rather it is in participation. Be encouraged, be strengthened. It can only get better.
