The Gift I Gave Myself
"Life is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you're gonna get."
We all know that famous line from the movie. Much to my surprise, that's kind of how my website turned out.
When I signed on with Wealthy Affiliate, I was of the mindset that there had to be a way to achieve some level of financial freedom. After a few months, I jumped into bootcamp and was looking to dream up that catchy site name and logo that was going to attract so much traffic!
I came up with Freedom by Affiliation. My financial freedom would come from Affiliate Marketing. I loved it!
It wasn't until a month or so in, and a huge effort on content, that I did a search one day and realized it may not have been THE best choice.
Not being very politically minded, I did not even have a passing thought as to the political implication. At first I was concerned but after mulling it over, I decided it wasn't worth my worry and I carried on.
Now back to the chocolates! You knew it was going to tie in somewhere, right?!
So not only are there now 2 meanings to my site name, I've found a third.
Sneaking in the back door to my brain, came this realization. The freedom seeking is not only financial and the afilliation is not just marketing.
There is another type of Freedom by Affiliation that resembles personal freedoms acquired by those we have affiliation with. One great example is this community here at WA. The personal developement that happens through the great support and encouragement received here. Freedom to work on who and where we want to be by affiliating with each other.
I've also been finding the freedom to break free from past training. Subconcious training received through people I affilaited with in the past. Freedom to decide that I want to live my future differently.
Starting to think there was some greater plan here than I originally anticipated. Not only was I gifted the opportunity to be a part of WA, I was also gifted the affiliation with new people that have opened new doors, new beginnings, and a new way of thinking.
Appreciating the box of chocolates, and looking forward to the freedom!

Hi Christine, fab post & interesting question... if I just saw a site titled, Freedom by Affiliation, I would expect to find freedom by being Affiliated with your site... so perhaps it's time to write that ebook about freedom from the chains that bind (i.e. fire your boss) to become an independent business owner online... something to that effect... and then create your own affiliate program so your affiliates can market your book and whatever other products you introduce. So, in essence, your site now becomes a provider of financial freedom. You like?
