THANK YOU for helping Me Solve the Overload
Earlier this week I posted a question on how you go about managing information overload https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/social-engagement-marketing/... and I was thrilled at the answers that came back at me.
They ranged from the tried and tested Old School approaches like:
- Word (Simone), Excel (Cassi), Folders with to-do lists (Jeff, Yvonne, Cordel), Sticky Notes (Harper & Jessie), Outlook, the Franklin Planner (Dan) and Google docs (Phil)
To the Newer kids on the block like
- Trello (Rich), Obsidan (Phil), Monday Premium (highly recommended by Abie).
I knew I wanted a system that would have all the features of the 'Old School' approaches above yet allow me the flexibility, upload, linking and really one big dashboard I could see and pull information easily from both my personal and business.
Richard(gb) suggested something called Notion. What got me curious was when he said that he used it for everything (see his post when you scroll down in it at https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/richardgb/blog/productivity-... . Now Richard is one of those guys that when he says something that rings with you then you better listen because it is coming from a place of deep knowledge.
Then Roy(sinOnline) who I also have mad respect for also suggested Notion in a separate note to me. So with that and all the talk about taking action, I jumped right into it.
Let me tell you all I have only been on Notion for a day and boys and girls it is everything I want it to be - notes, boards, galleries, templates, imports and more. And the best part it's free.
While I am hyping up Notion I really am also making a point. That there is a wealth of deep experience and understanding right here at our fingertips. We only have to reach out and ask and answers will come back to us. Then you have to take action because without that you cannot move forward. So please don't stick. You hear?
Always happy for your likes and comments.
Have a beautiful Sunday,
Hugh

Great news Hugh and very true about all the answers here at our fingertips!
I love Notion it makes juggling all my different hats more manageable and it is accessible with a screen reader which gets another BIG tick from me :)
Have fun there will be no stopping you now.
Tracy
I’m glad to see you like notion Hugh.
As you know by now, it takes a little learning because it forces you to think about what you really want from a tool. It doesn’t force you to implement anybody elses method.
Having said that, just ask if you want any input.
:-)
Richard
Yeah I like the fact that I can imagine it into anything I want. Certainly will holler if I need to.

I feel your pain. I'm just returning from kind of vacation. I was house hunting and only got to do a couple walks on the beach. No time for relaxing toes in the sand. 😏 Just enough time to walk off all the extra calories I was consuming. Of course, Jeff Brown made it rain there too. 😏 Anyway, I'm feeling totally overwhelmed trying to catch up.
I use a lot of file folders that work well for me but I also use Evernote/Word and Excel. There is a small fee for it though. I'll have to check out Notion for some of my stuff. Glad you asked the question.
