Testing the Caribbean Digital Nomad Lifestyle
We are still currently under a State of Emergency due to Corona and while restrictions have eased slightly, we are not allowed out of our homes between 9 pm and 5 am, unless for emergencies.
So I decided to bundle up the family and splurge on them a little. So we popped over to our sister isle, Tobago for a quick getaway. I figured I could still do my WA work while having some fun while doing it.
Like the Big Man and Angels must have been listening because, after days of devastating rainfall, which caused island-wide flooding, the sunshine has come out in all its glory.
Made me ask what do I need to truly become a Caribbean Digital Nomad or someone who can work from just about anywhere.
These are my top 6 picks:for a Caribbean Digital Nomad
1) First and foremost a laptop with a good internet signal.

2) A place to chillax while you are hard at work
3) Nature for inspiration ...these caterpillars really know how to work
4) A passport with a visa depending upon what country you are going to

5) Office Wear - flip-flops and trunks..oops forgot the shades

6) A good drink for more inspiration

7) A good teammate and a bed to close off the day to sleep off number 6

So hit me up a like if you want to be a Caribbean Digital Nomad? And let me know if there is anything that you would add to my list.
Always
Hugh

Hey Hugh
Great list but I'd add 3 items to that:
1. A reporter's notebook - for those 3am thoughts and plans
2. A soft-leaded pencil - they don't run if wet and they write upside down.
3. A good smartphone - for those instant 'walk n talk' Youtube shorts.
But... Bailey's? Really? Dude - I thought you'd be all over a Sea Moss shake or, at least, a good stiff Angostura 1787 :) :)
It's difficult to get Trinidadian rum here in the UK Cassi, it's mainly Jamaican/Cuban stuff here.
I've only had the 1 bottle of Angostura - on a terrace overlooking the sea in Corfu, sipping as the sun sank - ahhh memories
Yes, it is difficult, Dom and, expensive, if you do.
I try to get some bottles up to my relatives in the UK every year.
The past 2 years have been difficult to do that though.

Ah,yes; alcohol-fueled conversations that meant so much at the time- danged I can remember one single one of them! GG is a lovely drop.
Hugh, a VV Breakfast will get Dom in the swing of things one time!
Mixed drinks are not my thing.
Too much work.
I like my drinks straight up - neat.
A good single malt, Glenfiddich 18 preferably.
15-21 year aged rums, of course, Irish Guinness on tap (not the commercial stuff) and a great dark ale.
Easy stuff.
I work too hard to think about the mixes. 😉
I agree.
Come on down, Dom!!

I typed in 'festival' because I couldn't remember 'Carnival' LOL, oh dear, I think I may end up not remembering the whole vacation!
Sounds wonderful, Hugh!
I am an Island Digital Nomad.
Almost impossible to determine the number of islands in the world as it comes with different definitions; size, number of inhabitants, smaller than a continent..etc. I guess they love over complicating things.
In the Philippines, depending on tide, there are 7,107 islands and I surely won't be able to see a fraction of them in my lifetime.
Certainly would like to visit the Caribbean some day.
Here's a pic of Mel's Island. :-)

Lol, Hugh except for the fact that I am unable to work outdoors (too many distractions), I certainly enjoy the fact that I am in the Caribbean and have the freedom to enjoy nature at its best even at this time.
Enjoy Tobago. I have been to Trinidad twice but not Tobago. It is at the top of my list of places to visit in the near future.
Enjoy.

Excellent Post & Share Hugh, In spite of the rain, I would image all had a good time. If you were to ask them in 4 weeks I am sure they would all say yes. So do all your keyword selecting of keyword so when you go you will be able to hit that keyboard with a speed never seen before. Have another Good One.

Have an awesome Sunday! Wishing you the very best!

Absolutely! There is nothing girly about cream, cocoa and Irish whiskey. Looking forward to visiting Tobago.
