Here We Go Again
Here we go again. Starting over for the 300th time. That may be an exaggeration, but not by much.
Deleted all my progress check boxes.
Back to the beginning.
I had to go in for surgery a week ago. I found out my heart and my kidney (I was only born with one) are possibly failing. The poor functioning of the two caused an infection in my hand, bad and quick enough that I required surgery. It was progressing too quickly for antibiotics.
Apparently, infections in the hand are pretty serious. They are very prone to damaging shallow/sensitive tendons and ligaments in the hand quickly.
On one of my follow-ups, my doc tells me my hand isn't healing well, and the infection spread throughout my body, and the post-surgery antibiotics are having quite a time with it, giving me horrible flu-like symptoms.
So, she wants me off work for at least four more weeks if things don't start coming around.
I figure, I've been lazy with this WA training/my site. So, might as well devote these next few weeks to it.
Trouble is, I had surgery on my hand and can only type with one hand if I don't want pain and agony.
It also happened to be my birthday on the 20th, while I was in the hospital.
Wonderful birthday.
Every year on my birthday, I treat myself to a private dinner at Red Lobster with two lbs. of Snow Crab legs (and sides). Then I go buy myself a book on this or that.
I didn't get to do either of those yet.
Now, heading in to 2020 with a full-body infection (not contagious, you don't have to back away from your monitor while you read this), a horrible birthday, no Snow Crab legs, and no new book.
It is just so stereo-typical. Have a decent job that sort of pays the bills, then a medical disaster hits and you lose your income. UH OH! Better start doing something for myself!
So cliche', but here we go again.
YAY, 2020.
YAY, New Year.

I like your spirit. Even you have pain and things are not getting better but I see a hope in your eyes. I hope everything get better.
New Year!
Love,
Shahlla
Sorry to hear of your misfortunes, Joe! Reminds me of a December in 2015 when an infection caused me to have to have half off my right foot amputated--3.5 weeks in the hospital! I sort of feel your pain, but I think you're having a worse go of it! You're in my prayers for a quick recovery so you can get back to business!
For what it's worth, Happy New Year!
Jeff🙏
Thanks, Jeff.
3.5 weeks in the hospital? Yikes. That had to be excruciatingly boring.
Happy New Year, also.
P.s. How'd you put that emoji (or whatever) at the end? I don't see the option on here.
It was--stuck with a 13" B & W Box TV with one channel which played 1980's re-runs ad nauseum--food was awful--etc. For the $1200+ per day it cost--I should've demanded to be placed in a plush hotel!
