Questionable Links Warning in Squidoo July 2013

So I just had a ton of lenses warned / scheduled for locking and unpublishing at Squidoo.

It just so happens I may have stumbled upon what this round of updates is about.

I happened to check my lens bio's (the little bio box where your picture appears to the right of your lens). If you have questionable links in your bio, apparently today Squidoo is targeting them.

I was able to simply re-write or delete the links in the lens bio page and salvage almost all of my lenses without further action (other than re-publishing).

Good luck if you have had problems with them today!

Thanks for your post Barry. It may help those who wish to continue with Squidoo. I will personally take great delight in deleting all my lenses and also telling them why. My lenses are not money making, just backlinks to my site. All monies went to their charity fund. If you can't have a link in your lens what is the point? I think the slimy squid is gradually becoming irrelevant. Treating people like dirt is wrong.

Agreed.

It's the whole guessing game with Squidoo that made me stop using them as a resource. Even if you now know this about links in your bio, who knows three months from now what they'll be unhappy with, but still won't give you any reason why. So basically, you have to try something and hope for the best. Wait, that didn't work? Let me try something else and hope they like it. Who has time for that?

No argument there... but if you have legacy content and need to keep it alive a little longer...

I hear what you're saying. Especially if you are making money on those lenses. I just wish they were more transparent about what they are looking for.

As an aside, I noticed that you and I started WA one day apart.

Hi! Thank you for the heads up. I also have Squidoo lenses and will make sure they do not have any links in them.

That's what makes WA so great to have members tell us about things that are happening to them and are willing to share this with the community.

Thanks again!

Links in the bio *MAY* be ok... but if you find you are having large quantities of lenses "warned" your bio may be a first place to look for trouble.
