Holy Fraud, Batman - New Phishing Virus Targets Internet Marketers

So wow-

Just saw a couple emails come through to a pair of my "catch all" email addresses.

Someone or some group is specifically targeting webmasters / internet marketers with an office document virus / probably a Trojan (I didn't dare open it).

The Subject of the email was along the lines of: Your ACH Payment has been blocked.

Within the email is a little table describing some sort of payment transaction to my account which has been "blocked" or "cancelled" with instructions to click on and open up an attached file.

DO NOT OPEN THAT FILE IF YOU GET ONE OF THESE EMAILS.

Below is a screenshot of one of the emails I received.

Nope! Never open those kind of emails. Not going to lose all what I have. Don't even dare to think about the 'after effect'. :(

Thanks for the info. I never open an email unless I recognize it is one I I have subscribed to. If it looks dodgy it probably is and I just have the address blocked so it doesn't even get entered on the spam list.

Normally I wouldn't even report something like this save for the fact that it got through so many very effective layers of spam filtering.

Thank you for this warning! :)

Thanks Barry... you probably saved many of US a lot of grief. :-)

I've been around awhile... and never seen one like this before. This one (and at least one other like it) made it through multiple spam filters into my main email account inbox. A very impressive feat, and hence: dangerous.

Agreed thanks for the heads up.
