001 - Plan B
Today, the oil price hits below $30 per barrel.
I am monitoring it closely as all my clients are from oil and gas sector. Most of them are being hit by this crisis and started the cost saving containment program (i.e. stop spending).
My 9-5 job depends on them. I sell to them. If they stop buying I will lose my job.
My competitors already started laying off staffs. One of the competitors who used to compete with me in every bid, even wrote to me and asked me (beg me) for job.
This really worries me.
My car, my mortgage, my expenses, kid education are all relied on this single monthly income from the company I devoted my life into. I have no other skill sets rather the oil and gas domain knowledge.
I am almost 40, who will hire me?
"Plan B. Do I have a plan B?" I asked myself....
(to be continue.....)
