Worry

I'm having some second thoughts about my chosen topic, and I'm not sure what to do. The thought occurs to me to bail on it and move on to something else that's more popular, but holds little interest for me. I could hammer out a health and wellness site, or something like that. But I'm afraid that, while it may be more successful it would be a burden as that topic doesn't really interest me at all. Making money online interests me a lot, but seeing how I have yet to make any money online, I don't feel like I can be an authority on that subject. I've done a ton of research on the subject, I could probably put out a pretty decent "be successful and earn money online" site in fairly short order. I just feel a little hypocritical for doing so seeing how I am not successful yet in the site that I do have.

I was completely prepared to be in for the long haul on this, and was prepared for no results for a while, but I still had that hope that I would at least show SOME traffic to my site to let me know that people were actually checking it out, then worry about the monitization after that. So far I've had no luck that I can tell on either front.

I just really want/need this to work and generate some income so I can stop living paycheck to paycheck for a change. Anyone else feel like this or been in a similar state of mind? Maybe we can commensurate over our shared insecurities.

You have some very good answers here. I will just add that you can monetize any niche, the affiliate offers are there. So it makes sense to choose one you can write reams and reams of articles on.
Best wishes,
Steve.

ya I would worry too. one of the thing that we learn in Kyles work shop is to find something that your passionate about but also go through all the training.

Sure I have had my dough’s and frustrations also and I have been working on and off of my site for two years know haven't seem a penny and I need the money.

But you know what I love my site and what I have created and am very passionate at what I am doing. I am just know being seen on the internet in the end it will pay off.

Maybe you need to go into Boot camp and find your reason for being here.

You can"t just sit back and worry that will get you know where turn that negative attitude around and make it a positive one. a positive attitude will draw people to you.

You have invested into something know make it work.
always a better way

Kudos to you that you question whether you are enough of an expert to create a make money online site when you haven't done that yet! I really dislike so many people claiming to be experts when their sites are nothing more than a book report on stuff they've read, with no insights on what it truly takes to build a successful affiliate site. That true lack of understanding shows through in their writing, and is why so many of those site fail.

Create a site about something you know. Make it a successful affiliate site. Then go back to your first site and build it out. It will be far more successful then than it could ever be now!

hi Mr Worry lol - watch this - you may find it helpful

My advice: if you're prepared to do this long term, find a topic that you enjoy. Chances are, there are others with an interest in it, as well.

I simply can't imagine writing content for months (not to mention years) on a topic that doesn't excite me.

I know my productivity and writing are much better when I have a passion for the subject matter.
