I can see your point, Chris, and sadly I can also see theirs'. Though it isn't right, they have likely suffered huge financial losses as well, and may not have the ability to refund immediately, if at all!
Of course, there are also many rotten apples out there too!

yes Jeffrey
I can appreciate that too!
However in any self respecting business, contingency is always a proviso, and seems ot me they have failed horribly

It's a tricky one the travel industry is in free fall, at the moment. As travellers sometimes we have to roll with it. Hopefully if we do miss out the loss is not too much.

In a crisis, there will be delays in refunding. Sadly, these companies will go bankrupt and fizzled out or merged with other companies to stay afloat. The other part is customers will not be happy and they would expect these companies to be straight with them. If it wasn't for customers, these companies wouldn't have a business in the first place. This is the double sided sword that both sides are trying to avoid. May all your problem be solved. All the best!
much of your words is agree and it certainly will be more testing times before the end of this 2020
a vicious circle though
