On my way to my freedom!
In my life, I had to go though many struggles and successes, financially and personally. I moved from the East Europe to the West Europe in my early twenties on my own. I finished two degrees successfully by literally having nothing in the pocket, as my parents couldn’t support me financially. I climbed my career ladder in the Financial Industry and worked in different European countries. I struggled through a sickness of my child which was heartbreaking and through faith and not giving up we found healing.
Every lesson taught me something invaluable. It is not the events, that determine who we are, but it is the way we react to those events.
Last month, in August 2019, I resigned from my career as a Vice President in the Financial Services industry. On Friday afternoon I had a discussion with my boss about my career progression and I was not happy with it. Over the weekend I reached the point that I had to change something. I came back on Monday to my bosses office and resigned. It might look a very quick decision for someone, but I just knew, I wanted to do this more than anything else.
Life is not worthwhile spending on something you are tired and stressed of and just doing it in order to pay your bills. When I had my leaving drinks in my office, my colleagues were saying - "you are brave", "I wish I could do it, but I can't!". I think, everyone can, but it is true, not everyone will take the risk to step out and just do it.
I wanted to be free. Free from a boss, who constantly was telling me what, when and how to do it. Free to make my own decisions without any approvals of others. Free to decide that I want to pick up my son from school and not a nanny, as I was busy at work.
Was I financially free at the time I quit my job? No. But I saved a little to keep me going for several months. I told myself, if I am I going to do it, I will invest 100% of my energy and faith to make it work and take actions. If it doesn't work out, I definatly learned a lot, so nothing is ever wasted. I will gain an incredible knowledge. And this is the best investment you can ever make, to invest in yourself!
Did I know what I am going to do next? Not at all! But I was so tired, stressed and overworked in such a busy job, that my decision was clear - I wanted to find out what I love doing. So, I started my research and through a small comment online by someone I found WA. I read the post, signed up and already after a first training I could see that this all is legitimate and if you put your effort in it, it will eventually pay out.
Today I am free
Here I am, fairly new on the WA, but I love this community and truly believe in my success. I understand that there will be struggles, but I am taking actions every day.
Now, I wake up very happily at 6am in the morning, making breakfast for my family (which I didn't have time before when working in the office), spend some quality time with my little boy before taking him to school.
From 9am to 3pm I am working on my web page here at WA and going through the trainings (I just finished Level 2!). At 3pm I am done with my work and am I going to pick up my son from school. We spend the rest of the afternoon/evening together and I have seen such a transformation in my little boy, since I am picking him up from school and not our nanny. He is more happy and smiley!
This I call freedom and happiness! No money in the world can buy me a smile of a child, which I missed when I was sitting long hours in the office.
Thanks to Kyle and Carson for such an amazing platform!

Yes, I agree with your colleagues. You are brave, indeed. I must say you are also decisive and have a great attitude. I am sure you will find success in whatever you choose to do.
Olga,
What an amazing way to invest in yourself. I love your attitude too. With the amount of focused time you are spending on your business you will make progress faster than most people.
I wish you much success in building your online business.
Cheers!

Edwin,
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement !
Wishing you all the best, too!

I like to challenge myself and I believe that by going out of our comfort zone, we grow personally on a different level and can achieve the impossible. In my life, I had to go through different struggles, and one lesson I learned - if you stick to your plan, if you believe in yourself and take actions without excuses, you will succeed. :-)))
i actually feel my job is holding me back. I was happiest when i was out of work. I would wake up not tired. I would feel refreshed, and able to write a post relarively easily. I am not a good sleeper, and when 6.00 comes around, im too tired to get out of bed. I look foward to those days again.

Great decision! You won't regret it.
I don't know what your niche is, but financial literacy is a big obstacle for lots of people. Your expertise would be welcomed and valued. Remember that you can create training after 3 months of membership.
Welcome aboard,
Marsha
