Precedence

Trying to find time to work on the training material, writing content, etc., plus attempting to keep up with all the other necessities of living. Which means, I have to make the decision what takes precedence and what does not.

Almost everyone here at WA knows from my niche website that I'm passionate about my hobby - "Home Beer Brewing". And, of late I've been very active.

Club meeting on the 1st of July, topic - English Bitters (Ale). We sample commercial examples of the beer style, and then evaluate home brewed beers of the style brought to the meeting by members. Sort of like WA's Comments and Feedback area.

On the 20 of June, I entered three beers into a competition in the Cincinnati area on August 22nd. Three I had not brewed yet. They are now all three brewed and two of them are being carbonated. The 3rd is in the Lagering stage.

Hopefully, all three will get better scores than the last 3 I entered into the Indiana Brewers Cup competition, none them made it into the second round of judging, which we call Mini-best of the show. (MBOS). However, the local club took Home Brew Club of the Year in two categories, one of out members had the Best of Show beer and was the Home Brewer of the Year. That competition consumed a weekend of my time. BTW: This competition is one of the largest in the US, 1302 entries this year, quite a few from out of state.

The next weekend was the beer festival here in Indianapolis, which, of course, I got involved. Since I have a license that permits my pouring beer at events, that is what I did. The heat index, about 110F and it, had poured down rain the night before (1-1/2"), so the grounds were muddy by the end of the day. Seven hours in the heat and mud did not make for a pleasant day, except for some excellent beer I was able to sample through the day.

Other necessities of life. Keeping the lawn trimmed and looking nice. Picking the cucumbers before they get too big to make Dill pickles from them. Oops!, better-half is still trying to figure out what to do with the 10" by 2" diameter cucumbers I brought in from the garden.

Now the better-half has decided after paying storage fees on her Treasures, Antiques, etc., (my term junk) for years. She wants me to build a storage shed for them in our backyard. I estimate that it would require a 12 by 16 building This time, I told her I would hire a contractor to do the work. I don't think an old gimpy knee senior citizen should be taking on a project like that.

With the activity of the last month, I've still been able to get a little over 4000 words of content added to the website. Once I get the content there that is accurate and valid, then I’ve spent the time to learn how to drive traffic to the site. I may be wrong. However, I believe that there must be content presented that will bring the visitors back for more.
