As Damien commented - no stars. Methinks these are fake photos, George.
I think however, that I do see a glimmer of light somewhere - yup, there it is again! It's the twinkle in your eyes! Norty George!

1

Mariette - I'm shocked to think that you and Damien think there is something untoward about these photos. As I explained to him, the stars were behind me... point & shoot basics 101. If I can evoke a twinkle in pupils of mine, then all is well.

Reminds me of those submarine races I used to watch...

1

Good one, Bill - I could sit and watch that for hours!

1

Did you see the Bear in London on the street?

1

No - the black one was bearly visible... like the ravens in New York.

I'm beginning to think I'm much too serious today! Now I've been zapped twice! I'm shutting my computer down and going to do something else for a while! :-)

1

You can relax now, Sharon - it was only for one hour! All is back to normal now, the sun is shining somewhere in the world, hopefully on you!
:) G!

1

Thank you George! I'm fine now! Just had to walk it off this morning! Reading Kyles post this morning started the downward spiral. Even though it was a joke, it had a hard hit on probably a lot of us! Yes, the sun is shining. Here in Las Vegas it usually does! :-)

Beautiful pictures!

1

Thanks, david - I had to do a fair bit of running around to get them.

Good one! ~Jude

Thanks, Jude - the pictures are genuine!

This may help to place things in a little more perspective (re April fools);

That is a shame George (referring to a comment elsewhere in this thread) re Plasticene era... Mine goes back to Zues's dad cursing him out for making big bangs with his chemistry set... How odd, maybe my link is broken ;)

LOL

:) Not as good as K&C's little prank!

I never want to experience that one again! Thank goodness the blog was not too long, as tears were beginning to form, and a state of shock and depression set in... did not know it could happen so fast. Darned April fist!!

1

@Bis Good to see you laugh! You are a great resource to all of us, but so much of the time you are to the point somber. I know you do so much in your life, a moment for laughing is great to see, especially with your demanding lifestyle.

1

You left out the stars mate ~ the only time city dwellers see the stars is in a total blackout ;)

3

With the image being taken from above, from a heliotrope, stars were behind the lens, therefore not visible, Damien. The second part is right, though. The brightest stars I've ever seen were from the middle of the Great Sandy Desert in WA, on a 4WD adventure.

2

lol, what a shocker day I'm having mate ~ for reasons only known to the gremlins in my noggin, I assumed this was looking away from the planet not towards it... Back in the corner for this dunce...
April fool is about right.

Aust definitely has some of the worlds best star gazing opportunities, reminds me I must get out a little more often. Cheers mate.

That "Here is Today" is brilliant! I can only go back as far as the Plasticene era, when part of my Universe was being formed...

1

That is not London!
That is the famed picture of a black cat in a coal cellar one of the finest works of the last century

2

The camera never lies, Andy. f1.2 @ 60min. Have another careful look...

1

I could make a killing selling these photos in sealed envelopes at some kind of Pictures from Space Place. How much would you charge me for them George?

2

Promise not to tell anyone, Tria, but you can have each of them - gratis! FOC. Whatever you make on sales, 10% commission for me, eh?
:) george

1

I'll up it to 20%, because your work is so perfectly black, you did not photoshop any of these did you?

1

Done! You're very generous, Tria - no, these are all original and 100% unaltered, straight out of the camera.
;) george
