Foot prints in the sand

One day as my wonderful lady,

Linda, and I went to the local beach to take a walk along the board walk, She had an idea to take photos of the sand. I looked down and wondered to myself, why would she want to do that? A little time passed and even I became engrossed looking at the different impressions that were left as people passed through the sand.

Please understand this about Linda, she views life through her own lense, as do all of us, but things appear to her in much deeper depth than the average person. I have come to learn to trust her wisdom and “mother wit”. So, while looking at the footprints in the sand, I had an epiphany as to what the imprints meant to me at that time.

THE WORLD AS WE LIVE IN IT TODAY

The imprints that are left were made by people, just like you and I. The only difference being, they were given their own path to follow. Consequently, along the way, their paths intersected with our path and because of that, an imprint was left for us to see. We, both, could have chosen to keep walking and not pay any attention to the imprints, but our path in life, guided us to take notice of what others had left behind.

We were out to get some fresh air, during this day but, we received so much more. The time had come for us to understand how connected we are as human beings. There were tracks in the sand that went in every direction. Some were large and some were small. This, in itself let us see the greatness of our existence; that we all are truly in this together.

Not only were the tracks of different sizes but the treads of the sneakers and shoes were all different. Wow, what a light that is off, then a light that is on, experience that was. On any given day, either one of us would have walked on our way without a glance downward at the tracks or at the people that passed by. Today was not that day.

EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON,

With the onslaught of the Covid-19 virus, the whole world is now in a state of awakening. We are no longer living and surviving in a” fish bowl” looking at the rest of the world through cloudy water. The saying of “WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER” truly is the absolute truth and the foot prints in the sand made us realize this.

The virus, has brought the feeling of compassion and empathy out of us even more than it was previously. This photo was the most effective one for me, personally, and when I saw this, I truly realized the frailty of my existence and how everything and everyone eventually are joined together on our human journey. The tracks came together with some large and some small; some were deeply imprinted in the sand and some were moderately imprinted. There were footprints of children, and some of people who were barefoot. There was no rhyme or reason as to the direction the tracks were going or where they came from. The one thing that was obvious and very apparent is, WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGHETER. Stay strong, my fellow travelers and have faith that “This too shall end”. Now is the time for contemplation and self adjustment so that we can enter upon our new phase(s) of this journey with great expectations, new ambitions, new goals and visions.
